| Why is Low Body Temperature Important? |
| The body's enzymatic processes slow 10%, sometimes 20% per degree of temperature below optimum. Slower chemical function, repair, and disposal of local and environmental toxins put the body below expected function. This can cause many syndromes and symptoms, such as those listed to the left. Obviously, not all chronic problems are related to chronic low body temperature; but if any of these are noted, it may be prudent to measure one's body temperature on a routine basis to see if this is a possibility.
Hypothermia (Clinical) 97 - 95 Brain Fog: Coordination declines, mental horizon shrinks. 95 - 93 Medical Hypothermia: Stumbles, mumbles, grumbles set in, heart problems? 92 - 86 Medical Emergency! Amnesia, stupor, weak pulse. 86 - 82 Stupor, coma, heart problems, death possible. Low End of Normal Range -- approx 98.0 Some enzymes become "too tight" for efficient reaction kinetics Allergies, especially chemical allergies, slowly grow more pronounced. Immune system slows and falters. Allergies and colds more common. On/Off behavior patterns Persistence, dogged tenaciousness in pursuit of a purpose, a train of thought. Binging on sweets for energy. Temperature spikes and falls with excitement/anger Confusion Slightly glazed to the outside world. Nutrition Sleep Heart problems Core Temperature Lowered By: Hypoglycemia and "low fuel" levels Reduced calorie diets Tension and Fear, esp. without obvious methods of resolution. Inadequate protein, tyrosine, phenylalanine in the diet. Soda pop and artificial sweetener "addiction" Beta blockers, Carbon Monoxide, Hypnotic drugs, Cholinergic drugs, sedatives, tranquilizers, many cardiovascular drugs, and ethanol can all lower body temperature. Sleep disorders / lack of sleep can lower body temperature Too much light in the evening from watching TV late can push Melatonin cycles off, resulting in too little Melatonin when you get to bed, and too much in the morning. This in turn affects body temperature cycles. Candida Albecans and other yeasts produce hormone analogues which can suppress body temperature. Parasites Anemia Thyroid problems, T3/T4 conversion problems, either in the thyroid gland, or in the cells themselves. Mitochondria related problems, including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Porphyria. |
