Society is a Prison, Relgion is Dead, and People are Idiots
“Man is born free but is everywhere in chains,”
said the philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
And in a society where you have nothing to gain,
you break the law, said David Thoreau.
Liberty gives you the right to do
whatever the law will let slip by.
That is according to Montesquieu
who felt that liberty was a glorified lie.
“Without a country, I am not a man,”
says Nawaf Al-Nasir Al-Sabah.
And “What you can’t enforce, do not command,”
as Socrates wrote on the topic of law.
"There is nothing permanent except for change,”
which was said by Heraclitus.
But “The stupidest of men will stay the same.”
That is, according to Confucius.
“God is dead” Nietzsche said,
because “faith is not wanting to know the truth.”
And a wise man created God from his head,
Plato once stated and agreed by Camus.
On talks of "The Republic,” “Plato was a bore,”
according to Friedrich Nietzsche.
And he wrote the republic was nothing but a “whore,”
as he conversed with Sartre and Stravinsky.
We live in a society that is filled with liars
and our “History is a lie agreed upon.”
And that was said by none the wiser
than Bonaparte, Napoleon.
Every five centuries History will turn
and what was first will now become last.
And it has been proven that we never learn
from the lessons we've had in the past.
So we continue to first invent then destroy,
like the first-draft script in a play.
And the victims of the past will quote Tolstoy,
“Vengeance is mine, and I will repay.”
