| SPECIAL HOMELAND DEFENSE COVERAGE BY J.WELIN Having been fortunate or perhaps unfortunate enough to be present in a major metropolitan center and witness the events live (not the reverse angle replays on the networks, I actually witnessed the largest mass killing in history albeit on television). This center of communication, aerospace industry and home for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) was later revealed to be on the intended list of target set for destruction. Additionally a co-workers mother was a CNN team leader feeding us the latest 411 even before it was broadcast for all to see. With exception of perhaps ground zero I had a cherry front row seat to watching the opening kick off for the grrreat football game now in progress. I spent almost a month collecting my thoughts about this human drama unfolding live on the god box. Watching first hand the military build up and the outpouring of support for sweet revenge opps, I mean JUSTICE. Living next to a major aerospace manufacturer with its adjacent military airfields the sky was constantly filled with the weapons laden birds of prey preparing for there journey to destinations unknown. These events allowed me the opportunity to fire off several rolls of film to document history as it unfolded. Even prior to my departure and journey home I became witness to the horror of the reality that in our enlightened society that vengeance is interchangeable with justice. That the team logos normally worn by all for the new NFL season had been exchanged for Ole� Glory being peddled by those seeking to make a quick buck on hatred not unity. Ultimately the sentiment remains the same � GO TEAM�. Over the course of the five hundred mile journey to my family�s ancestral home the sights became all befuddled in a clouded sea of RED, WHITE and BLUE. Flags waving, war drums beating and the Coalition hadn�t even taken possession of the ball yet. To me even more appalling than the acts of terror was the level of blind ignorance displayed by our citizens screaming for �BLOOD�. We are unwilling to accept responsibility for our role in this mess. SUV�s and the comforts of modern living come at a premium- that premium being our dismal foreign policy record over the last century and our dependence on fossil fuels sucked out the ground in places where they really hate us. Yes, my fellow americans I am stating some not so nice things about you (and me) and the system which we allowed to create an environment so that these atrocities could occur. Take responsibility damn it! The reason why these people hate us is this broken down into nearly monosyllabic ( one syllable words)terms: okay we are a democracy (actually were are a republic, anyway though right). This means we elect our leadership. This leadership is suppose to enact policies that we the people have directed them to on our behalf. Of course this leadership has been manipulated by wealth and become drunk on power both provided by its true keeper the corporate military industrial entertainment complex. These policies are a direct reflection for our insatiable appetites for OIL. We buy this oil from repressive regimes. These regimes then turn around and buy weapons from our manufacturers. As the end user these countries then turn them on their neighbors and more often than not their own people. These oil rich dictatorships view the west and the U.S. especially as a decadent and corrupted culture. The point is this as long as we buy the oil they have for sale than people die. Family�s have watched their members die/ be maimed or imprisoned/exiled at the end of the U.S. made sword wielded by the a regime that got the money to purchase aforementioned sword by selling oil to said manufacturer. *(Note I am not ignoring the Israel factor, I just haven�t gotten that far yet.) So the survivors of the bloody repression huddle together to hate the EVIL SATAN which is the west and the puppets (the countries that sell the oil and buy the weapons) that do their bidding. Moderates within these countries then fund and support the resistance movements and challenges to the established authority which is bent on eradicating them. So there you have it. And who is going to give it to them? We do, every last one of us. Every time we stop for gas, every time we turn on the lights. Every time we pay taxes, like when you go to by something special for that special someone who makes you feel special. So accept some of the responsibility. Don�t just stand there playing the role of victim. You have bought it perhaps even voted for this and now you have been educated ignorance is no longer your excuse. Instead of blaming those truly guilty of these atrocities we have rallied behind them (those elected and appointed officials in d.c.). We display our ignorance and call it patriotism. So get out there and wave the flag, go to the polls and pay those taxes. If you truly want to display your support for this country stand behind those brave women and men embarked upon this crusade. Once this has come to pass we must ensure that our democratic society is steered back on course, our duty is simple we must call for the accountability of those who put in place the policies which allowed this to happen. Mostly though be afraid of the �elected� and �appointed� terrorists who have crept into our world with the proclamation of �defenders� of the �free world�. The last thing that I must direct the reader to consider is this, our complicity in this whole mess by the forced creation of the state of Israel. Let me say this I am not anti-Semitic in the least, I just don�t see how we ( as in Western Civilization) could create a nation based upon religious mumbo jumbo and can consider it to be right. I can go on at length on this and the topic of the Gulf War as great blunders in history but I won�t. Anyway back to the topic, look we sell these people the most advanced weapons systems in the world which they modify to achieve maximum results. They turn around albeit as a condition of survival institute their own biblical form of genocide live for the world to watch on the idiot box. So there it is for you broken down plain and simple. Gas, guns, and god the three �g�s� of goodness that make the world go round. All single syllable words for death. |
