The Misadventures of Draco
Part 4: The Bunny Dragon

Draco was sore all over. It had been almost two weeks since Draco's little mishap with his latest purchase -- an automated self-bondage system -- from Toys n' Stuff, a mail-order catalog for fetish-related goods. After accidentally getting stuck in the machine for an entire day and a half on a rather nasty setting, Draco dismantled the machine, packing it back up and locking it up with the other products he'd bought from Toys n' Stuff.

Today, however, Draco was a bit hesitant to go outside to get the mail. This was usually the day of the week he got the catalog of new products from Toys n' Stuff. Draco knew he had to put his foot down -- no more purchases from them, he resolved! He went outside to his mailbox, steeling himself on the way to immediately shred and toss the catalog, but to his (assuredly pleasant) surprise, there was nothing from Toys n' Stuff. Draco sighed with relief; it looked like he would be safe for a little while longer, at least!

Draco brought his mail inside, sitting down at the table over his lunch to look through it. It was the standard mail he received every day. Newsletters, credit card offers, and companies and charities asking for money composed the bulk of it. Draco came across a letter, though, addressed to him. He checked the return address, surprised to find it was from Dee, a female friend of his he hadn't heard from in almost a year. He used a claw to carefully open the envelope, taking out the letter and reading it.
"Dear Draco, I hope this letter finds you well. It's been a while since we've spoken, hasn't it? I apologize for not being in touch with you more, but I've been quite busy at my new job here in town." New job, Draco mused to himself. He wondered what Dee was up to now; he had met her almost five years ago when they both started working in the same office together. They had both found better jobs about two years ago, though, and went their separate ways. Last time Draco had heard from Dee, she had moved far away to work. She was apparently working back in this town now! Draco continued to read the letter. "I sincerely apologize for writing you under these circumstances, but I'm in a bit of a fix and you're the only one I know of who can help me. Give me a call whenever you get this letter, and we can maybe meet up over lunch to talk more? Both about my problem, and to catch up on old times. I look forward to hearing from you, Draco!" At the bottom of the letter, Dee had signed it, enclosing her phone number.

Draco went to his phone, dialing the number. The phone rang a few times, and Dee picked up.
     "Dee speaking, good afternoon."
     "Dee, it's Draco!"
"Draco!" Dee sounded relieved to hear his voice. "How have you been? Did you get my letter? Well, of course you did," she said with a laugh, "or else you wouldn't have this number! How are you?"
"I'm fine. You said you had something you needed to talk to me about?" Draco asked.
"That's right. Say, Draco, I know this is short notice, but would you be able to meet me for lunch today in about a half an hour? My treat, of course." Draco looked over at his half-eaten plate of food.
"Er... I just ate, but that's okay, I'd be more than happy to see you."
"Thank you so much! You remember that little restaurant where we always used to have lunch back at the old office, right?"
"I do. Should we meet there, then?"
"Yes. Thank you again, Draco, I'll see you there soon!" Draco hung up the phone, and sighed, sticking his plate of food in the refrigerator, going to get ready.

A half hour later, Draco walked in the door of a small restaurant about fifteen minutes from his house. Draco looked around, finding Dee sitting near a window, staring blankly outside. Like Draco, Dee was also a dragon. Draco walked over, and Dee turned, finally noticing him.
"Oh, Draco!" Dee jumped up, hugging Draco. He chuckled and returned the hug.
"Dee, good to see you're doing well," he said with a smile. The two sat down. "So what's this big problem you need my help with?"
"Well, you know Easter's coming up in three days, right?" Dee asked. Draco nodded. "I have a management position at the mall here. I didn't like the town where my new job was, and it was the best thing I could find back here."
"Right. I wondered what happened to you after you moved. The last thing I expected was to see you living back here!" Dee giggled. "But what's the problem?"
"Well... our Easter bunny had to cancel, you see, and I can't find anybody else to fill the position. It's so close to Easter that everybody else is booked!" Draco had to hold himself back from slamming his head against the table. This was the big problem Dee was having?
"And let me guess, I just happen to be Easter bunny material?" Dee blushed, embarrassed.
"I'm so sorry to ask you like this, Draco! But you're the only one I can think of who could do this for me. You'll only have to be in costume for a few hours, you'll get plenty of breaks, and you'll be getting paid for it, too! If you do this for me, Draco, I'll really owe you big," Dee said, practically begging Draco. Draco chuckled; the prospect of being the Easter bunny amused him, if nothing else.
"I'd be happy to do it, Dee." Dee looked at him.
"Really? Oh, thank you, thank you, Draco!" Dee jumped up, hugging him and giving him a kiss on the cheek. "You just come to the mall office at eleven on Sunday, and I'll have everything ready for you! Thank you so much, Draco!" With that, Dee ran off. Draco was about to follow her out, when a waiter stopped him.
"You'll be paying for her meal, right?" Draco sighed.

That Sunday at eleven, Draco went to the mall, heading to the main office. He opened the door, finding himself in a room with just a secretary at a desk.
"Hi, my name is Draco. I'm here to see Dee?" The secretary pointed to a door.
"Right through there, sir." Draco opened the door to Dee's office; she was sitting at her desk, filling out some paperwork. She looked up at the sound of the door opening, and smiled.
"Draco! You're right on time! Are you all ready?"
"Ready as I can be, I guess. What do I have to do, anyway?"
"All you really have to do is pose for pictures with kids. And maybe later, if you feel up to it, lead an Easter parade around the mall?" Draco shrugged.
     "Sounds easy enough."
"Good! Then let's go get you ready." Dee put her paperwork away, and led Draco through the mall. They passed an empty store where a huge line of children was waiting outside the closed doors. Draco looked in, seeing a large chair with Easter decorations all around. He stopped to look, and Dee stopped as well.
"Let me guess. My office?" Draco asked, sarcastically. Dee giggled.
"I guess you could put it like that," she said with a smile. "Come on." Dee led Draco down a side hall which led behind the stores, and they entered in the back room of the room Draco was looking at earlier. Inside the room was an Easter bunny costume hanging from some hooks on a wall. It was nice looking, at least. The white fur all over the suit looked very soft and plush, and rather than a large, mascot head, the head was sewn right onto the suit. There was a mirror on the wall near where the suit was hanging, and the box the suit had been shipped in was still sitting in the corner. Other than that, the room was empty. Dee nodded. "All right, Draco. Go ahead and get into the suit. I suppose you'll want to take off everything but your underwear, or else it might get a bit uncomfortable. I'll wait out here; you can go ahead and get in the suit. Just call me if you need help. With that, Dee walked back out the door, closing it behind her.

Draco stripped down to his underwear, folding up his shirt and pants and setting them on the far edge of the bench. He took the suit, and sat down on the bench, putting it on. He pulled his feet and legs into the costume, working them all the way in. The costume had attached feet, and Draco's feet fit snugly into them. The bunny suit's feet were padded, maintaining their shape. He pulled the suit up to his waist, when he faced a problem. His long dragon tail was in the way. Draco lifted his tail up, holding it against his back as he pulled the suit up to hold it in place, the suit's puffy white bunny tail taking its place against his rump. He looked at the arms and paws of the suit. The paws were nothing more than featureless mittens with no fingers or even a thumb, so he would have to get Dee to help him get the head on and zip the whole thing up. Draco pulled one arm into the suit, working his own arm all the way in until his own paw rested snugly in the suit's mitten paw. He worked his other arm in the best he could -- he got it almost all the way in himself -- then walked over to the door, knocking.
"Hey, Dee? I need help finishing up." Dee opened the door and walked in, almost shrieking when she saw him.
"Oh, Draco! You're so adorable! Er... sorry, I didn't mean it like that," she giggled in apology. "Now come on, let's hurry up and get you finished. That line of kids isn't going to get any smaller!" Dee helped Draco get his other arm into the suit fully, and began to smooth out the wrinkles in the parts Draco had put on so far. With that done, it was time to put the head on. "Draco, I need you to lean your head back a little bit." Draco did as Dee asked, looking straight up. Dee pulled the head of the suit back and over Draco's own head. Like the feet and paws, the head was internally padded, so even though it fit Draco's head snugly, it still kept its rabbit shape. Draco found he could see out the suit's eyes and breathe out of the suit's small pink nose quite easily; other than those, there were no openings, even in the large floppy ears standing straight up on Draco's head, so Draco's hearing was a bit muffled. With the head in place, Dee zipped up the back of the suit. The suit's furry edges along the zipper met very closely, hiding the zipper perfectly once it was fully zipped up. Once Dee adjusted the head, she laughed in delight. "Look at yourself in the mirror... you're just so cute!"

Draco turned to look at himself in the mirror. He had to admit; the bunny suit really was adorable. The face was sculpted in a permanent, friendly grin, and the entire suit was covered in pure, soft, white fur. The suit was internally padded to make Draco's body look more like a stuffed bunny; the padding in his belly and torso made it impossible to tell whether the wearer was male or female. Dee giggled again.
"I think you're about ready, then. Thank you again for this, Draco, you really got me out of a bind!" Dee said as she hugged Draco. He hugged Dee back, as she rubbed her cheek softly against his chest. "You're so soft," she sighed happily. Draco was certainly not in favor of breaking the hug with a dragon as pretty as Dee, but the sooner he finished up here, the sooner he could spend some time with her out of the silly bunny suit.
"Shall we get started, then?" Draco asked, the suit muffling his voice. Dee nodded, and went over to the door that led out to the store's main room.
"Your public awaits," she joked with a grin. "And remember -- no talking!" With that, Dee opened the door, and Draco went into the main room, sitting in the chair, and he could clearly hear the kids outside cheering. Dee, who was working the camera, opened the front doors and began admitting children to get their picture taken with the Easter bunny.

Everything went smoothly -- for the next three hours, all Draco had to do was sit there, wave at the children as they approached, let them sit in his lap, have his picture taken with them, and give them a hug before they left. By the time the third hour rolled around, Draco was starting to get a bit hot in his costume, and there was no end in sight to the line of kids. Draco began to squirm uncomfortably, trying to find some way to let some heat escape, and Dee noticed. Before the next kid entered, Dee went over to him, speaking softly into his ear.
"I didn't expect a crowd quite this big, Draco... I'm so sorry. How much longer do you think you can last in there?"
"I'm just getting a little hot, but it's not too bad. My body also feels pretty stiff from sitting still for so long," he said. "But we can't let all those kids down!" Dee nodded.
"Yes, you're right. I'll try to get through them as fast as I possibly can. Don't worry; if worse comes to worse, the picture sessions end in two hours anyway." Dee went back to her post at the camera, and Draco groaned silently to himself. Two more hours?

Worse did indeed come to worse; 4:00, the time the picture sessions were supposed to end, rolled around, and there was still a never ending line of kids. Dee had no choice but to cut the picture sessions short to the sound of a large number of kids crying. Dee closed the doors, and took a sigh of relief. She went over to Draco.
"I thought we'd never get done," she said. "How are you doing in there?"
"Roasting," Draco mumbled, his voice even more muffled than before.
"You poor thing, let's get you to the back room so you can take a break and cool off." Draco tried to stand up, but he found his arms and legs were extremely stiff, barely affording him any motion.
"Er... could you help me up, Dee?" Dee took Draco's paw, and lifted him up. He stood up, albeit stiffly, and followed Dee into the back room. Once they were back there with the door closed, Draco flopped down to sit on the bench. "Ugh! I'm broiling in here, and my arms and legs will barely bend. Could you get me out of this thing, Dee?" Draco asked.
"Of course!" Dee went around behind Draco to unzip the zipper, but found nothing where the zipper was a while ago. She used her claws lightly to look through the fur, wondering if maybe the zipper was just buried underneath the fur. She found nothing but a seam the whole way down Draco's back.
"What's taking so long?" Draco asked.
"You're... uh... you're probably not going to believe this, Draco, but the zipper is gone. It just... disappeared," Dee said.
     "What do you mean disappeared?"
"It's not there, there's just a seam there!"
"Well then, please, rip this thing open if you have to! I'm getting really uncomfortable in here!" Draco whined. Dee nodded, and took hold of the suit, pulling as hard as she should against the seam. It and the fur held fast.
"You stay here, Draco. There's a sewing store a few shops down, and I'm going to go get a seam ripper!"
"Okay. Please, hurry," Draco said as Dee ran out the door.

Draco sighed. His body was still stiff, but as he waited for Dee, he didn't feel quite as hot. He began to try to look around the room to pass the time, but he quickly found his neck was just as stiff as his arms and legs, and would barely move. Draco was beginning to get worried now, but he became even more worried as he felt himself beginning to lose his balance, falling to the side. Instead of hitting the ground with a thud and feeling the ground under him as he was expecting, though, he didn't even feel himself hit the ground. It worried him even more that upon contact, his body barely made any noise. Draco tried to move any part of his body, but he was completely stiff. He had fallen in a position where his head was pointed at the mirror, and while he could see his body was twisted in a rather strange position, his body didn't hurt. It felt numb.

Dee rushed back in with a seam ripper, but shrieked as she saw Draco laying on the ground. She ran over to him, picking him up. She quickly found that he hardly weighed anything, though, and it didn't even feel like Draco was inside the suit anymore. All Dee felt was soft stuffing inside suit, like a stuffed animal. She hugged it tightly, feeling it squeeze in her grasp. (This startled Draco as well; he should have been crushed!) She dropped Draco to the ground again, standing up.
"Draco! Are you in here? Is this supposed to be some kind of practical joke, because if it is, it's not funny at all! Draco! Answer me!" Draco tried to talk, but he found his muzzle was becoming numb as well. He gathered all his strength and began to shout as loudly as he could.
"Dee! Dee, I'm right here on the ground! I'm still in the suit, help me!" Dee heard faint mumbling coming from the suit, and knelt down, putting her ear to the suit's mouth. She could just barely make out Draco's extremely muffled voice. "Help me, Dee! I can't move!"
"Draco! I'm going to call this company I ordered this suit from right now and find out what's going on! You just hold on, I'll get you out, I promise!" Dee went over to the box in the corner, and began to dig around inside through the packing peanuts. They flew everywhere, but she finally found what she was looking for -- the letter that came with the suit. Not even bothering to read it, she dialed the number into her cell phone and stormed out of the room, dropping the letter next to Draco. It landed face up next to Draco, and he could distinctly see a horribly familiar logo on the paper. Fearfully, Draco read the letter.

"Dear sir/madam: We at Toys n' Stuff would like to thank you for buying our Plushie Wear Easter bunny suit! We hope your significant other finds its soft, luxurious fur fun to cuddle with for the next week. Please exercise caution putting the suit on -- once it is on, it will turn the wearer into a life-size Easter bunny plush for an entire week! We hope you and your partner enjoy your purchase; enclosed in the box is our newest catalog of products, which includes this and our other Plushie Wear line of costumes!"

Draco sighed to himself. Even when he wasn't the one doing the ordering, he managed to get stuck in Toys n' Stuff's products anyway! The only thing Draco knew was that Dee owed him big for this favor...
