Michael Michaud remained sensitive to life while in the Maine State Senate. In 2002, he ran as being pro-life, but once in the big town of Washington DC, he had a 'change of heart'shall we say. On Feb. 26, 2004, he voted against HR 1997, the bill punishing violence against pregnant women by legally counting their unborn children as persons. (AKA: Laci Peterson and Conner Law). On April 27, 2005, Michaud voted against HR 748, "Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act" which makes it illegal to transport a minor girl to antoher state for an abortion without notivying her parents or legal guardian. Then in August 2005, he voted pro-abortion, in favor of HR 2862 which would have prohibited enforcement of "any provision of law that prohibits or restricts funding for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). UNFPA supports china's one child population control program which relies heavily on coerced abortions. |
