Students for Life is a student organization dedicated to defending and preserving human life at all its stages. To learn more about the organization, check out the "about us" section.

Our next meeting is April 30th at 6pm in Russell House 305. Bring any recent pro-life news as this will be our topic of discussion.

Push for Life Fundraiser: Friday, April 13, 2007, we had our annual PUSH FOR LIFe fundraiser. It was a great success thanks to our many volunteers. We were able to donate $158.22 to Birthright. That's over 600 push-ups!

Roses for Life Fundraiser: Friday, February 9th 2007, we sold hand-crafted chocolate roses as a fundraiser for Birthright of Columbia. Special thanks to all of you who helped out at the table or purchased roses. We raised over $100 dollars for Birthright and got an article in the Gamecock!

Previous Meeting Notes

At our first official meeting of the Spring 2007 semester C. Fletcher Armstrong, PhD from the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform came to talk to us about the Genocide Awareness Project. This project utilizes photography of aborted babies alongside other instances of abuse and injustice throughout history to bring the message of the horrors of abortion home in a very visual manner. Next meeting we will be voting as a group to determine whether our Students for Life group will sponsor this display here at the University of South Carolina.

More information can be found at the AbortionNo.org website. --- Please be advised that this website contains graphic videos and images of both the abortion procedure and aborted babies.

Recent Events

2007 Stand-up for Life March and Rally: Students for Life participated in the annual state rally on January 13, 2007. Along with many other pro-life organizations from around the state, we represented our group by standing up on the steps of the state house. This years featured speaker was inspirational speaker/singer Gianna Jessen. She told her story of how she was the beautiful result of a failed attempt at a saline abortion. Her foster mother was told that she would never raise her head. She now travels around with her head and heart raised high singing and telling her miraculous story. Here are some pictures from the Rally:

Students for Life meets approximately every other Monday evenings at the Russell House University Union.

If you support our cause or simply want to learn more about the pro-life movement we encourage and invite you to come to a meeting
