SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS

used in building a web site. Typically, 3 types of
tools are used in conjunction with one another:
Image Editors (draw and create the graphics that
will comprise your site), Web/HTML Editors (build
the code and foundations on which your website
stands), FTP Clients (sometimes included in the
previous, to get the files that make up your site
from your computer to the server).

Adobe Photoshop (Image Editor/Graphics)
The leading image editing program, though expensive
($609), is the standard for creating graphics on the
web.

An excellent program for creating web sites with
WYSIWYG tools as well as extensive source code

frills attached. Color syntax, HTML tag building,
