East Wing
  This wing, much like the rest of the fortress, has tall granite block
walls and floors.  There is a simple dark blue runner on the floor, running
along the length of the hallway.  The hallway leads to a larger hallway off
to the northwest and it narrows even further toward the southeast where you
can barely glimpse a stone staircase leading upwards.  A hallway to the
southwest leads to the entrance.

ceiling.  A large ornate, deep blue colored rug covers the floor of the

  This trail is well worn and skirts around Arkane's lookout tower.  The
sheer distance and the cover provided by the forest shields most of your
movement from the prying eyes of the tower.  Perhaps that will be the least
of your problems as this trail gets frequent use for a reason.  The lookout
tower can be seen to the east and a path which continues to skirt the tower
is to the northeast.  To the south is a path which leads you to a clearing.

western wall.  The fortified wall stretches from north to south and covers a
vast distance.  A lookout tower can be made out to the northeast.  The west

the north.

  Unfolding before you is a vast passage of the purest onyx, styled and crafted
into smooth, unmarred walls.  A natural glow radiates from its surface from
illumination further away.  The passage spans a great, uncountable height and
length, and the polished surface lends even more to that illusion.  The cool,
dark interior echos noises that sound off randomly, as they envelope the passage,
then dissipate.

The Obsidian Altar
  The altar room stands wide and tall, with great expanses made for
gathering.  Deep black obsidian covers the ceiling, floor, and walls, cut
and polished to a tedious perfection.  It contrasts slightly in the joining
of onyx and jet, creating a small swirl of chaos along the room's edges, yet
the different stones seem to lock into each other perfectly.  Dark sconces
adorn the wall about the altar room, their firelight bounding shadows and
glints of light off the polished obsidian surfaces.  A large sacrificial
altar stands in middle-front of the room, as the obsidian floor rises
fluidly towards it.  The altar itself is carved from the same obsidian, and
is seemingly a part of the rising dias.  A carved hole within the altar
itself shows its purpose as sacrificial in nature, while the ornate carvings
about the construction calls forth all powers of Necrucifer's lineage alike.

  To the south you can enter Arkane.  The wilderness of the continent lies off 
in all the other directions.  A soft breeze carries the smells of the city's 
bakery.  Inside the gate you can see the people of the town and travelers 
from distant lands.

A large clearing north of Arkane
  This clearing provides an excellent view of all that approaches Arkane's
northern wall.  The fortified wall stretches from east to west and covers a
vast distance.  A lookout tower can be made out to the southwest.  The north
city gate is to the east and a path which leads around the large city is to
the west.

The long trail around Arkane
  This trail is well worn and takes the long way around the city.  Perhaps
a route traveled by people who wish to avoid going through the large city of
Arkane.  To the west is a faint path which leads you deeper into the woods. 
A large clearing can be seen to the east.

  This trail is well worn and skirts around Arkane's lookout tower.  The
sheer distance and the cover provided by the forest shields most of your
movement from the prying eyes of the tower.  Perhaps that will be the least
of your problems as this trail gets frequent use for a reason.  The lookout
tower can be seen to the south and a path which continues to skirt the tower
is to the southwest.  To the east is a path which leads you around Arkane.

  This trail is well worn and skirts around Arkane's lookout tower.  The
sheer distance and the cover provided by the forest shields most of your
movement from the prying eyes of the tower.  Perhaps that will be the least

tower can be seen to the east and a path which continues to skirt the tower
is to the northeast.  To the south is a path which leads you to a clearing.

western wall.  The fortified wall stretches from north to south and covers a
vast distance.  A lookout tower can be made out to the northeast.  The west
city gate is to the south and a path which leads around the large city is to
the north.

Skirting the Northwest Lookout
  This trail is well worn and skirts around Arkane's lookout tower.  The
sheer distance and the cover provided by the forest shields most of your
movement from the prying eyes of the tower.  Perhaps that will be the least
of your problems as this trail gets frequent use for a reason.  The lookout
tower can be seen to the east and a path which continues to skirt the tower
is to the northeast.  To the south is a path which leads you to a clearing.

south is an extended clearing which provides excellent visibility for the
guards.

Middle of a Huge Field
  From the middle of the field, you can just make out the tips of the sails
in the port to the west, but Arkane's city gates are looming to the east. 
Perpetual giggling invades the would-be silence, apparently coming from the
forests to the north and south.  The trees all around you seem young and
fresh, fragile as the breeze sends another wave of leaves down at the edges
of the field.  A battlefield can be seen to the northwest.  A path upwards
leads to The Academy.

Middle of a Huge Field
  From the middle of the field, you can just make out the tips of the sails
in the port to the west, but Arkane's city gates are looming to the east. 
Perpetual giggling invades the would-be silence, apparently coming from the
forests to the north and south.  The trees all around you seem young and

buildings in the city.  A game trail leads off to the southeast away from
the city and into the woods.  To the north and south is an extended clearing
which provides excellent visibility for the guards.

Skirting the Northwest Lookout
  This trail is well worn and skirts around Arkane's lookout tower.  The
sheer distance and the cover provided by the forest shields most of your
movement from the prying eyes of the tower.  Perhaps that will be the least
of your problems as this trail gets frequent use for a reason.  The lookout
tower can be seen to the east and a path which continues to skirt the tower
is to the northeast.  To the south is a path which leads you to a clearing.

A large clearing west of Arkane
  This clearing provides an excellent view of all that approaches Arkane's
western wall.  The fortified wall stretches from north to south and covers a
vast distance.  A lookout tower can be made out to the northeast.  The west
city gate is to the south and a path which leads around the large city is to
the north.
