Project
Stewardship is an environmental education program that provides
hands-on stewardship experience for high school and intermediate
students.
The program combines classroom learning with outdoor
experiences that reinforce concepts and make classroom lessons
“real.”
|
 |
Students
help natural resource managers with ecosystem restoration, while
learning skills in botany, ecology, horticulture and resource
management. Project
Stewardship fosters teamwork and builds a sense of community:
teachers, students, managers, community groups and
volunteers work together to make a difference for their
environment. |
 |
Project
Stewardship also supports natural resource management objectives
by providing an effective method for community outreach,
increasing public awareness, interest and participation in
conservation and help managers to achieve conservation goals.
