Should Cloning be Allowed?  What
Some People Think

There are people who feel that clonings benefits outweigh any social dilemmas, while some think cloning is wrong on a fundamental moral level.  These are the public opinions of some religious, scientific and ethical groups:

The Catholic Church:
John Paul II condemned human cloning, but did not mention other forms of cloning.

Sunni Islam:
An Islamic theologian from Al-Azhar University said that under Islamic law, cloning animals is not allowed, but some muslims feel that it should be allowed if it produced ways to counteract infertility.

Judaism:
The chief Rabbi of Israel stated that it is against Jewish law to clone any creature, but some believed that in Jewish tradition, it would be allowed to produce better food and medication.

Foundation of Economic Trends:
The president of Economic Trends proposed a world-wide ban on cloning, following that it should carry a penalty, like child abuse and murder.

World Council of Churches:
Martin Robra, the executive secretary said that the council would prefer a temporary stop of cloning activities until all ethical questions be resolved.

Church of England Board of Social Responsibility:

Mary Seller said that cloning must be used responsibly and it is not favourable to clone humans, however it is useful to clone sheeps.
