What is Project Read?
Project Read is the educational compoment of the Alternative Incarceration Center (AIC.) Our clients are refered to us by a probation officer, a parole officer or by a court stipulation.

Who is eligible?

* Any AIC client who has withdrawn from school, but who desires to be mainstreamed back into the public school system.

* Any AIC client who will not return to high school but will study to obtain a GED.

* Any AIC client who needs improvement in basic education.


What are the goals of Project Read?

We provide a positive, non-threatening environment where students are encouraged to reach their highest level of academic success. Students are encouraged to adopt these skills for employment and overall self improvement.

What are the students responsibilities in Project Read?

* Students attend class three hours per day, five days per week.

* Students report to class promptly and remain on task for the entire class period.

* Students are expected to work to their highest potential at all times.
