Ed Gossage

I'm a 21 year old graphic design major from Albuquerque, NM. I currently attend school at Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, TX, where I study graphic design under fellow poster designer and professor Dirk Fowler.  I run Attledo Design Co. a one man design and print shop out of my garage in Lubbock.  I design and print posters for rock and roll shows around the country.  I have done work for shows in Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, California, Colorado, Europe. The posters that I print myself are print on a homemade screen printing press, and all done using either paper cutouts or Ulano Ultra Sharp STA lacquer based hand cut stencils.
This forces my work to become very simple and lean away from heavy line work. This particular piece was printed  by Obsolete Inc. in Austin, and allowed me to work more with line.  I enjoy using line, and creating my own drawings by referencing many different unrelated images, and putting them together in interesting ways.  I am a huge fan of type and strive to make the type of the poster as important and as strong as the image.  On a majority of my posters I scan in entire alphabets from old type specimen books and individually place each and every letter, rather than using a computer based font.  A lot of my work is heavily textured.  This poster has some light texture, that adds to the overall feel.
I like my work and feel that it is continuously improving as my style begins to unfold.
