Project Information

In the spring of 2002, over 400 students and their parents residing in Northern California participated in the UC Davis Project by completing surveys. Students participated in the project when they were attending middle school, or when they were in the 7th or 8th grade.

There are interesting findings relating to students' high motivation for school, partner selection, and language use/translating activities at home. These findings are summarized in newsletters, which are sent to all the families who have participated in the project.

Currently, little is known about how families change as students make the transition from middle school to high school. We are planning a follow-up study in the near future to understand how this change may influence families. We look forward to your continued participation and request your updated contact information every time you have any changes!
