PUNK SCENE
Ok, the punk scene is most likely the only relatively real scene left. People don't dress themselves but think about it this way: Look at the people who listen to real punk bands. Then look at the people who listen to mainstream punk bands. Now think about what a real punk is. The punks were the poor kids who didn't get along with anyone and skateboarded around town and were rebels but you look around and the only way to listen to any real punk band are to either have enough money to get a fast moden to download their songs or to have enough money to go to a lot of shows or to have enough money to buy their cd's. Either way punk has that image where the rockers are poor. They wear clothes stitched together to show what? To show they are rebellious? To show they are different? It was originally done cause the original punk bands were to poor to really buy new clothes and toured around in beat up cloths held together barely and after a while people started making things out of pins and shit cause they didn't have money to buy it. PUNK cloths that have your favorite punk bands are as expensive as abercrombie and fitch and even american eagle. It's $40 for a screeching weasels sweater. It's $15 for 1 white shirt with the Queers on it. That's pathetic. Punks who "represent" aren't poor and really aren't living the punk scene. You may think you're living life on the streets but you're not. Punk is fake. I hate to admit it, I just envy the fact the music stays real. The music about real things. The imagery is whacked. So you're thinking that the punk scene is dead? No it just changed. It moved from the piss poor lower class America to middle class and what we got now are semi-rich people listening to this music to satisfy teenage angst and to touch that raw hard edge. I personally listen to everything despite if they are sellouts or what I don't care. I may no like them but I'll listen to it. The point is that Punk is not dead. Parts of it may be fake but the music is still real and raw. Keep up the good work boys and girls.
