THE ALL AMERICAN CAR
Well, you're probably asking yourself, "Why a tempo?" then you're probably asking yourself "Why the fuck does Robocop have a tempo?" Well, all these questions or maybe one of them shall be answered. In 1984 the Tempo was introduced to answer the inflamed gas prices and desperate need for a mid-sized economic car. But of course the first year completely sucked dick blah blah blah. Let's skip a few years from that okay?. Anywho, as I continue let's skip to MY year. 1989 the Ford Tempo I have rolled out of the factory. In 1989 they created the sportier appearance package and the 2.3 liter HSC multiport fuel inject engine producing a whopping 98 horse power and 124 ft lbs of torque lol..What a pile of
horse shit. Its drive ratio on the MTX III was 3.33:1. The suspension of the 1989 tempo remained unchanged but I have the stiffer sports touring ON A FUCKING 4 DOOR. This picture is kind of old. It was while my car STILL RAN. Now I have a black racing stripe painted down the roof cause it's a piece of shit and I'm amazed the keys I have work. Need to retime the fucker. No exhaust past the exhaust manifold but oh well. There where 217,185 of them bastards sold that year and that's a lot of shitty tempos. My tempo I would trash but it has a sentimental value. When you own a Ford Tempo you create a bond with it. Afterall, the only nerdier cars are Ford Aspires and Festiva's. If I get my tempo running I'd probably be a lot happier with it. It's funny to think though a Ford Tempo with a V6 and advanced timing can run a 15 second quarter mile. My tempo doesn't have a tachometer...yet...*shifty eyes focus on neighbor's truck*. Anywho, by the time I'm done with it, I'll probably have stolen a ratchet shifter off of a GTX a tach off of an old beat to hell ford pickup truck and a cd player of some sort. It will be pretty badass. I can rip out some madass front wheel drive burn outs with the 180 HP my Tempo produces with its slightly modified head and such. I figure when I modify my intake manifold and add a cold air intake I'll be getting about 220HP on the dyno test. Blahhh
