Dear God,
I know I am a sinner, but I want to be forgiven, and given a second chance. I want to live for you, and for you to guide me and let me know what I am supposed to do. I know that Jesus died on the cross so I can be saved, and I thank you God for everything you've given me.

There is no right or wrong way to pray. Whatever comes natural to you is what you should say. Most of the time I pray to myself. I feel what is being said is between myself and God. God hears every word you say, think, or even feel no matter when it is. Praying isn't necissarily an organized thing. You can be walking down the street and something comes to your mind and you can just say it. I know some people believe you should pray every morning and every night or 3 times a day maybe, but I just pray when it feels right. Sometimes I want to thank god for something or ask him for something I need. There is no need for anyone else to even know if you are shy about it. I don't pray in public so everyone can hear me, I pray to myself so only God hears me. Remember to ask for what you need, prayer isn't a contest where you can put your name in and win prizes. It is a serious thing where you are talking straight with God. If you are in need of something, simply ask, and if you truly believe he will give it to you. And no it won't fall from the sky magically, and it may not be exactly what you had in mind, but he will provide. Be sure to be thankful for what you DO have because without God you would have nothing. And lastly, pray often. God loves to hear from all his children often. Keep him on your mind no matter what you're doing, you may be surprised at how it affects your behavior. And remember, some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. Think about that. |
