What isn't God? He is present everywhere at all times. He watches you sleep, eat, go to school, he is constantly watching over you, and at all times has control. This seems to baffle people. They wonder, well if god is always watching over me, then why do I get hurt and why do I have money problems, or why does ANYTHING go wrong for that matter? It's a bit more complex than that. For example, what if every day on the news, they announced the winning lottery numbers so everyone could go pick the right numbers and nobody would lose. Then you wouldn't be getting anywhere would you? Everyone would win only a little amount. It's a choice, and you have to make it. If God were to send a bolt of lighting to kill a snake before it bit you, or when you slipped and fell a huge hand swept you up before you hit the ground, would you second guess God's power? Of course not, it would be too obvious to ignore. That's where faith comes in. Faith is a lot harder to have than you may think. It takes a true believer to have much faith. All faith is, is believing, and knowing that God WILL take care of you. Why did my son have to die at age 5? someone may ask. Why didn't God stop it? I thought you said he would take care of you if you believe. that's a very common argument. Also, you have to realize, not everyone can live forever. You take the time you're given and you cherish it. Do God's work while you have the chance, and when you've completed your purpose in life, what more do you need to live for anyway? You don't know that by your son or daughter dying, that someone else, maybe a lot of people were positively affected. Maybe by your loved one dying, someone else was saved, or given a second chance. Don't be selfish, love the time you have and cherish WHAT you have while you have it. Life is too short to complain. Instead of griping about the rain, take your kids out and play with them in the mud, that's what bathtubs are for! But seriously, faith is knowing that you'll be ok in the LONG run, which is all that matters. If you believe, and you follow God, even if you DO die, you'll be heading to a much better place. Heaven is beyond me to describe other than what the bible says. It is described as a place more beautiful than you could ever imagine on Earth. Golden streets, gates of pearl, mansions end to end all mind boggling, a great sea crystal clear and magnificent, and all the people who have served God will be there forever. That's a long time.... forever. I've heard forever described like this, and it fits: Imagine a dove in the sky, and a boulder the size of the sun. Every 10,000 years the dove flies by and its wing lightly brushes the boulder. When that boulder is worn down to nothing, that is only the beginning of forever. Try to think about that. Do you want to spend that long in Heaven of Hell? It's a simple choice that you have to make. God gave us only one thing along with life on Earth, and that is the freedom of choice, a very powerful gift. Every day we decide what to wear, what to eat, where to go, and whether you realize it or not, who to serve and where our final resting spot will be. God gives us his love and support, and gives us the choice to live for him, or the world. It's one or the other, and you can't have both. The choice is simple, a 2 answer multiple choice..... Heaven, or Hell? It's up to you. |
