Happy Earth Day. What are you doing to make the Earth a better place?

A list of submitted ideas that I heard from various people and what they planed on doing on Earth Day.

Editor comment: I am reusing my condoms so that they don't clog up the landfills.

Drinking beer from paperr cups.

Gracing it with my presence.

Taking a nice long drive through the country and throw trash out the window.

Dumping used motor oil in the river so the cycle can come full circle.

I am getting older and won't be around to see what the rest of you do with your stupid planet. I am done with it. You can clean up any mess I leave behind.

Seriously, I have a solar powered water heating system and next month, I'm having a wind turbine put in to generate power. I should be able to drop off the grid completely.

My roommate sleeps with his AC on and his balcony door open. I kicked him in the balls.

I plan on cutting off and then flipping off every person that I see driving a SUV on my way to work. But I do that most days anyway.

If nobody's looking, I run over a pedestrian or two just to thin the herd.

I'm riding a bus to buy an organic burrito, and then beating a homeless man to death!

Nothing, really. But I feel guilty about it, so that makes me less of a douche bag.

Instead of throwing away all of my unused plastic grocery bags, I burned them in my backyard!

Not a fucking thing. Doing absolutely nothing to save the planet. Nothing.

I'll do my part by watching Planet Earth on the Discovery Channel.

I'm burning tires on my Earth Day bonfire.

What am I doing to help the Earth?

Not deluding myself into thinking that it somehow depends on such insignificant nigh-entities as myself and the rest of the human race.

The Earth doesn't need to be "saved".
It doesn't need our "help".

The earth has been here for over 300 billion years, and a bunch of upright apes aren't going to somehow "destroy" it. If anything, the Earth considers us and the sum total of our works on her face as little more than an inconvenience. And a temporary one, at that.

That's right. You want an "Inconvenient truth" Here it is...

The Earth isn't going anywhere... We are!

And when we're gone, the Earth shall heal itself once again, as it always does, without our "help".

I think people should be far more worried about saving Mankind from extinction than the planet.

At this rate, people won't even begin to think about the possibility of human extinction until it's upon us.

Oh and the many fundamental Christians think it will be the rapture and think themselves immune... till they find out otherwise.

"God" will protect us... Funny, never heard of two consonants and a vowel protecting anyone.

If God exists (and I believe this is true), and God made free will, do you really think God would interfere with our free will and stop us from destroying ourselves?

I'm not so optimistic.

18-year-old student takes 6-year-old girl to his senior prom

It was a big Friday night for 18-year-old Markise Stewart, a senior at Salisbury's Parkside High School.

"At first, when I told them I was taking a 6-year-old to a school dance, they was like, 'Man you crazy', but I was like, 'No man, she's like family to me," Stewart said.

Stewart decided to take Shanice Collick, who was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia at birth, to the dance.

"You don't find too many people at their senior prom willing to take a little child," said Shavonne Collick, the child's mother. "Even though she's sick, he decided to take her instead of one of the regular people.

"I feel like a princess," she said shyly.

Dressed in a lace white dress with flowers and a tiara, Shanice said it was a perfect day.

Dr. James Burns of the Main Street Medical Center explained, "It's a very painful and very devastating disease for children to have,"

Stewart said that is exactly why he wanted to give Shanice the experience of going to prom. "This is my chance to make a difference," he said. "She's just a kid, and deserves this."

Editor comment: Only doing it so they can park in the handicapped spot.

You think she's going to put out?

FTA "At first when I told them I was taking a six year old to a school dance, they was like 'Man you crazy', but I was like no man, she's like family to me," Stewart said.

His mastery of the English language has me stupefied.

FTA "You don't find too many people at their senior prom willing to take a little child. Even though she's sick he decided to take her instead of one of the regular people," Shavonne Collick said.

"Regular people?"

I tried to take a 6-year-old to my prom too. She was all like he took me off the playground and I was like shaddup here's a kitten. Now I have to register as a sex offender for life :(

This guy ain't getting any trim. Nice guys never do.

All joking aside... this is a very noble thing to do.

Vietnam vet living on a raft in the Keys to raise money for troops

A Vietnam War veteran has been living round-the clock on a raft off the Florida Keys to raise funds for a program he hopes to create for other veterans. Bill Sampsel wants to raise between $6 million and $11 million to build a facility in the keys to conduct eight-week rehabilitation programs for veterans. As of Sunday morning he had amassed only $500. "It's kind of boring," said Sampsel.

Editor Comment: It's probably hard for most people to reach the jar.

"It's kind of boring," said Sampsel.
Don't worry. Hurricane season is less than six weeks away.

Why does he think this is a good idea? There are plenty of other ways to raise money, a fine example would be a topless car wash!!!

Here is the problem. I't's not for a recognized charity. Instead, it's something he's making up on his own from scratch. I'm sure this makes potential donors skeptical. If he did the same thing but with the money collected in a credible manner and the proceeds dedicated to a known and respected charity (not his personal account), I'm sure he'd raise much more. $500 is just pitiful.

Lottery winner order to share with ex-wife

A Vancouver man who won a $10-million jackpot has been ordered to split the remainder of his winnings with his ex-wife.

Editor Comment: Why did this have to go to court? The wife could have said "I'll take $500,000" and he would have said ok.

Now, he's going to have to kill her.

The judge was a woman, what did you expect?

Thanks Family Court, for making a complete mockery of justice.

Yet another reason not to live in Canada.

His wife's name is "Mai Huong Cao"
How do you pronounce that?

This is a shot in the dark but 'My Hung Cow'?

She is a large tranny

Yet again, a situation where 'murder' should have been used instead of 'divorce'.

Blue Angel down at air show pilot killed

A Blue Angel aircraft has gone down somewhere near Pine Grove Road in Beaufort.

The jet went down Saturday during an air show, plunging into a neighborhood of small homes and trailers and killing the pilot. Witnesses said six Blue Angel jets were flying in formation at the Marine Corps Air Station when one crashed, sending up clouds of smoke.

The crash took place in the final minutes of the air show.

John Sauls, who lives near the crash site, said the planes were banking back and forth before one disappeared, and a plume of smoke shot up. "It's one of those surreal moments when you go, 'No, I didn't see what I saw,' " Sauls said.

The Blue Angles fly F/A-18 Hornets at high speeds in close formations, and their pilots are considered the Navy's elite.

Editor Comment: Latest word we're hearing out here is an unrecoverable mechanical failure (stall most likely) & that Lt. Cmdr. Davis took his F/A 18 Hornet into the trees to try to avoid houses & people rather than eject.

A sad day for the Blue Angels. It makes you realize that despite being about as perfect as a human pilots can be, accidents are inevitable.

The Blue Angels have been inspirational heroes since 1946,

The Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels are military demonstration teams and is a very high honor to be selected. They are tasked to show what precision military flying is all about and show the power of the F16 and F/A 18.

They represent more than their respective branches of the armed forces. They represent a classy, disciplined, idealistic vision of the United States. They key to this is the "ideal". While the US does not always hold true to these ideals, it is important to remember them. The Blue Angels are frank reminders of that. On a lighter note, they make a lot of kids smile and get excited for something other than a video game.

I think the most inspirational thing I remember about the Blue Angels from growing up in the 80's was after watching these guys do unbelievable things in the sky for an hour they came over to meet the kids in the crowd, talk with people and sign autographs.

You have to admire that these guys are out there trying to do something positive, putting in 16 hour work days to display their excellence and professionalism to the world. Personally I think the Blue Angels have a lot more to brag about than to apologize for in the professionalism they show and the example they set.

Anybody that watched the Blue Angels: A Year in the Life on Discovery knows how seriously these guys take safety and their responsibility to safeguard themselves and the people on the ground.

We too often get caught up in the marvel of watching these elite select men and women fly and we forget that these Aviators run the risk gauntlet every time they go up, during the show the narrator emphasizes that the flight maneuvers and displays are symbolic and representative of these maneuvers that are needed when flying from a forward deployed carrier, only harder, way harder.

The aircrew realizes this, as well. Prior to any recap during a debrief, when their turn comes up to speak, the Blue Angel Aviators start off their comments with a "Glad to be here boss", an acknowledgement to their commanding officer that they are aware of the fact that they are indeed fortunate to represent the Navy and the United States in this venue and they recognize their comrades who are flying on the pointy tip of the spear around the world, without the crowds and the adulation that goes along with being a flight demonstration pilot, be it Blue Angel or Thunderbird or Snow Bird or Red Arrow or any of the Teams.

Kev was a rare Aviator, a rare Aviator without the huge ego. Rare that he never felt the need to let everyone in the room know he was an Aviator or a member of the Blue Angels. Even after being selected to fly with the Blues he felt the highest honor of his career was when he served onboard the Ike providing CAS to the troops on the ground.

And for those that think that the Blues are a waste of taxpayers money. When Blue's two year rotation is complete, they all rotate back to the fleet, to regular carrier duty. The flight skills they learned while with the Blues are freely passed on to the carrier Aviators thru our training to help us do our jobs better.

A sad end to a sad week.

Re: The Coolest 8 year old in the world talks about O'Reily (video)

This video features a girl responding to the Video 'The coolest 8 year old in the world talks about O'Reily' Click here to watch this video

Editor Comment: I'm sooooo stoned

This is why so few guys ever want to get married. Beauty and brains in the same woman is extremely rare. This chick is a fucking idiot.

Go to school

People in gangs do not kill each other because of religion, nor did it start that way. They kill each other because of race or territory issues.

Honestly and objectively, you should try to be more coherent and logical in your statements, that was seriously painful to watch.

I didn't hear a thing you were saying. All I was doing was looking at your lips and thinking about kissing them... until you said you smoked! WTF? Someone with lips like those has no right to smoke.

You sure are right about one thing. You are "Dumbed Down!"

The coolest 8 year old in the world talks about O'Reily (video)

This video features a young actress playing a fictitious character. It is a commercial for the band 'The Bastard Fairies' Click here to watch this video

Editor Comment: What a cute little communist!

Why is this girl dressed like a prostitute?

This girl is ignorant and indoctrinated. The only religion that kills people these days is Islam. Christians don't kill mass amounts of people these days. And by the way shows like south park and family guy are retarded.

There are far more interesting things in life than religion. Religion is boring and so not fascinating.

Fuck O'Reily. Why doesn't he go back to sexually harassing his co-workers and give us a break.

Although scripted - still funny

Lets go hang this girl

Web reaction swift and brutal to Anna Nicole death

Minutes after word of the death of stripper-turned-celebrity Anna Nicole Smith, the blogosphere began the autopsy of a life lived in the headlines, and the verdict wasn't at all pretty.

The occasion gave free rein to the pseudonymous savagery which passes for informed commentary on the web.

"Anna Nicole Smith's condition downgraded to dead," one writer on new commentary site Fark.com coldly noted. Thousands of visitors had posted remarks within hours of her death. Fark commentator "LikelyCulprit" posted a photo of a beached whale entitled "preliminary autoopsy photo."

Editor Comment: What a bimbo died yesterday?

Wait, Anna Nicole Smith had dignity?

She earned everything she's getting...

What did they expect?

The woman did nothing for society while she was alive so who cares?

She was an attention whore while she was alive, I'm sure she'd love all the attention she's getting now.

If you think Fark was bad, you should see how the goons at SA handled her untimely passing.

I've really gotta step up my snark if I want to be quoted in news articles. Note to self: make fun of dead fat celebrities.
