Land Animals |

Every planet that has the ability to contain life most likely has living, breathing creatures. The animal life on Ataraxis evolved from the aquatic life first, and then spread to land. The land animals on Ataraxis are sometimes very different from those that are here on earth, but not too far from our fantasies and maybe some reality. |

| Ruler of the air, the mighty beast, the eergidep. The eergidep is not really that mighty. It is only a small dragon about the size of a turkey and most defiantely not edible to humans, except some carnivors who have the ability to catch them eat them. Believe it or not, for their small size, they are on top of the food chain. The typical female eergidep is of a bluish-grey color with light blue eyes. The male can range from white to black and any color in between for both the fur and the eyes. On rare occasion, there is an all black one or an albino. Eergideps feed primarily on berries, leaves, small fish and small insects, but he females hunt meat when in heat or pregnant. In a small group (3 or 4), these little furry dragons can take down a creature the size of an earth deer. |

Scissors, as the human scientists like to call them, are gentle creatures for the most part. The tend to leave others alone unless they grow hungry or feel threatened. They comit suicide after six years of living. The female, if bearing the child at 6 years of life, will wait until birth and then she'll kill herself. Their methods of doing so are eating their innards out by ripping through their skin by their teeth/claws.
It's in their species to go insane, but fortunately they give birth on average every 6 months [The baby will be born after 2 months; they develop very quickly]. |

The pixie is one of the smaller creatures on Ataraxis, only standind at 3 inches tall on average. Pixies are not carnivorous, so they feed on plants and berries and most of the time, a better is more than enough to fill a pixie up. They aren't the smartest creatures on the planet, but they are excellant at bluffing and making illusions. |
