May Day: Anti-Capitalists and Local Unions March in SF, Oakland
In Oakland: Local unions and anti-capitalists protested at the INS building
against federal government immigrant sweeps, which are resulting in
hundreds of arrests.

In San Francisco an anarchist/anti-capitalist march proceeded from the
Mission District to meet up with a labor rally at Diane Feinstein's
offices.

Berkeley May Day: Police Provocation Disrupts Reclaim the Streets
4/30: A celebratory crowd gathered
at Sproul Plaza and marched through downtown Berkeley, stopping on
College Ave for an animated Maypole ritual. When the police abruptly
ordered the gathering to disperse, the procession continued through the
streets under heavy surveillance.
A man holding a camera was arrested when an
undercover cop shoved him into the police line and took a second person
into custody moments later. Police then roughly arrested a woman who
had been spinning fire. All 3
were released at 1am with court dates for
misdemeanors such as "interference with police" and "mischief.

Minneapolis, MN
Another Minneapolis Mayday. Unions, anarchists, anti-war activists, pagans, punks, immigrants, and workers united to march in downtown Minneapolis on a route secured by SEIU. Before the end of the march which sought and obtained a permit from the city, a significant portion of the marchers broke off for a different march. The mainly anti-authoritarian march started by heading down Nicollet Mall, wound around and finally ended in the green grass in front of some corporate offices. So far, there has only been one report of police provocation. There was some property damage, but no one has photos of it. Read more in depth accounts on the newswire as they are published.
