|
OVERALL VALUE:
|
By studying the different areas
of Colombian culture, students will gain an understanding of the
positive achievements in Colombian culture. Hopefully, students
will also walk away from this culturequest with the knowledge that
positivity can be found in any situation if one looks hard enough.

| TIPS FOR TEACHERS: |
The idea behind this culturequest
project is for students to find the positivity and creativity that
comes out of a country and culture that is ravanged by violence on a
daily basis. After going through the project, one should ask the
students to think of the kind of message this can put out to the
world.
Have students think about those subject areas they usually dislike and
then have them find the positivity in those areas and figure out ways
to
make it positive, just as the people mentioned here did.
Also have students look at the areas of dislike within their own lives
(non-school related) and have them find ways to turns those areas into
positivity or creatvivity.
