This site is a hobby project, but that dosnt mean i dont take it serious. I felt i wanted something to do, and i love programming, so i coded this site. If you find most of the stuff here UNIX/Linux/BSD oriented thats not weird, because you can do so much more in a UNIX enviroment than in a Windows or MacOS enviroment, so if you want to get into serious programming, then you should think about getting a free UNIX, for exampel Linux. Getting a BSD system to work is alot harder than a Linux system, so if you are new to all this operating system stuff, choose Linux as your first UNIX. In UNIX/Linux you have gcc, perl and g++ preinstalled in most systems wich is great for a programmer. Its much more fun to code in a UNIX enviroment, and as Eric S. Raymond said, "UNIX is fun to hack". He is right. You should go to Erics site and read his book about UNIX-programming at URL www.tuxedo.org/~esr.

But if youre sitting with your parents Windows machine and cant do nothing about it, there is compilers and interpreters for Windows too. Perl and Python are available for Win32 systems. Look at the links-section for adress to thoose pages.
