The Apple Tree - Love ~~ Of slight build, lots of charm, appeal and attraction, pleasant aura, flirtatious, adventurous, sensitive, always in love, wants to love and be loved, faithful and tender partner, very generous, scientific talents, lives for today, a carefree philosopher with imagination. Mystical or mythical meaning of an apple often represents the guilt of man, or a time before sin was created. Often in paintings, the apple takes us back to the beginning. Many in the magical community use an apple tree for their wands, as it is considered a �living� fruit. (This also applies to the nut trees.) It represents immortality, eternal youth, and happiness in the afterlife. Cutting one down was considered so unlucky that the Tridads of Ireland called for a living sacrifice for payment.
While holding you wand, did you ever give it anything thought that the wood it is made of have symbolism? Many of these ideas were passed down from the Celts and druids who based many meanings and divination practices on the sacred tree. Here are some trees and the things they represent. Some of the first information seems silly, but as you read it was based on interesting background and history.. In Divination, the tree represents time, the root is the past, the trunk the present, and the branches the future. It is said you would be lucky to dream of climbing a tree.
The Ash Tree - Ambition ~~ Uncommonly attractive, vivacious, impulsive, demanding, does not care for criticism, ambitious, intelligent, talented, likes to play with its fate, can be egotistical, very reliable and trustworthy, prudent lover, sometimes brains rule over heart, but takes partnership very seriously. Mystical or mythical meaning of an ash tree, which are often a bad omen, however, the many in the United States and England believe the ash tree is good for warding off evil spirits. This tree was sacred to Poseidon, god of the sea, ash is connected with sea power, prosperity, knowledge, and protection. Ask leaes under a pillow bring prophetic dreams. Ash burnt at Yule brings prosperity. Ask is excellent for shafts, healing wands and wizard's staffs.
The Birch Tree - Inspiration ~~ Vivacious, attractive, elegant,
friendly, unpretentious, modest, does not like anything in excess,
abhors the vulgar, loves life in nature and in calm. Not very
passionate, full of imagination, little ambition creates a calm and
content atmosphere. Mystical or mythical meaning, the birch tree
was often used to for paper, and paper symbolically represents a
new start, if it is blank. Like you can write your own story or begin
anew. If the paper has writing on it, it could be referring back to
the past or suggests a �love� affair.

The Cedar Tree - Confidence ~~ Of rare beauty, knows
how to adapt, likes luxury, of good health, not in the least shy,
tends to look down on others, self-confident, determined, impatient,
wants to impress others, many talents, industrious, healthy
optimism, waiting for one true love, able to make quick decisions.
Many treasured items are kept in �cedar-line� boxes, as are some
closets to maintain a fresh, clean smell.
The Beech Tree - Creative ~~ Has good taste, concerned about its materialistic belongings, good organization of life and career, economical, good leader, takes no unnecessary risks, reasonable, splendid lifetime companion, conscientious about keeping fit. Mystical or mythical meaning, it is funny how �nuts� are a symbol of wealth, money, or the possibly of good things ahead.
The Chestnut Tree - Honesty ~~ Of unusual beauty, does not want to impress, well-developed sense of justice, vivacious, interested, a born diplomat, but irritated and sensitive in company often due to a lack of self-confidence, sometimes acts superior, feels misunderstood, loves only once, has difficulty finding a partner. (See Beech tree)

The Cypress Tree - Faithfulness ~~ Strong, muscular, adaptable, takes what life has to give, happy, content, optimistic, desires adequate money and acknowledgment, hates loneliness, passionate lover who cannot be satisfied, faithful, quick-tempered, unruly, pedantic and careless. Magical or mythical meaning, the cypress tree is a favorite in many cemeteries for its long life, and beauty.
The Elm Tree - Noble ~~ Pleasant shape, tasteful clothes, modest demands, tends to not forgive mistakes, cheerful, likes to lead but not to obey, honest and faithful partner, tends to a know-it-all attitude and making decisions for others, noble-minded, generous, good sense of humor, practical.

The Fig Tree - Sensible ~~ Very strong, a bit self-willed, independent, does not allow contradiction o arguments, loves life, family, children and animals, a bit of a butterfly, good sense of humor, likes idleness and laziness, practical talent, intelligent.

The Fir Tree - Mystery ~~ Extraordinary taste, dignity, cultivated airs, loves anything beautiful, moody, stubborn, tends to egoism but care for those close, modest, very ambitious, talented, industrious, many lovers, many friends, many foes, very reliable.
