Divination Class
Palmistry
Youve seen it many times, the old women wearing the shawl and holding someones hand and saying, You will soon take a long trip. Well, thats not palmistry that is guessing! There are no lines on your hands devoted to travel!
Palmistry is more about your state of mind, your character, and your development. It is a tool of divination, but the object of its divining is you! Your creativity, ambitions, talent, intuition, dedication, passion, all things about you that constitute your fate.
The name Palmistry is misleading for it is not just the palm that is looked at; its the whole hand: the general shape, the fingers, the lines, and lumps (called mounts), the furrows and swells of the palm.
We will learn that your hand is a miniature-map of the inner you, as the world, as just like the world, everything changes in time. You cannot re-write your past, but you do have a hand in your future!
Lesson One:

Which hand do you use? Basically if your dominant hand is the left one, read it, if the right read that one. Palmist say the non-dominate hand shows what you have been given; the dominant hand shows what you will make of it. Other Palmist says your left hand reveals your private side; your fantasies, hopes and dreams. Your right hand shows how you present yourself to the outside world.

Shape: There are six basic hand types, but keep in mind that most hands are a mixture. As we will find, the Square Hand may have Conic Finger and should be read as such. As with most all things, there are always variations, here are the types:
THE SQUARE HAND is square-like in shape, the palm flares out into a square above the wrist and forms an even edge at the base of the finger. Even the fingertips are blunt and squared off. The Square hand is sometimes called the Useful Hand because it generally belongs to a practical, efficient, orderly character, someone who can get things done. Square Hands respect authority, and by passes passion for reason. They are not temperamental, but they are persistent; there is nobody in the world more determined than a Square hand going about their business.
THE ELEMENTARY HAND - is thick and strong and inflexible. The palm dominates the hand and the fingers are short and sausage-like. Only a few heavy lines appear in the Elementary palm, which belongs to a brutal and instinctual character. One who has this type of hand will often act more on instincts than thinking things through.
THE SPATULATED HAND can be slightly surprising at first sight, the finger tips, instead of tapering off, look shovel-like or like a spatula, flared out. The hand itself flares to. The Spatulated Hand is wildly energetic, imaginative, and active, its fingers want to move and dig, and explore; the only problem is follow through. They are so restless, they have a hard time finishing the projects they started. At their best, they are bold explorers, innovators, and problem solvers. At their worst, they are chronically discontented and inconsistent.
THE PHILOSOPHIC HAND is a rare type. It is long and lean with boney long fingers, narrow nails, and particularly knotty knuckles. This hand is a seeker of wisdom, a true intellectual. This hand will be thoughtful, analytical, even a visionary. The Philosophic Hands best outlet is in academic, artistic, and religious realms.
THE CONIC HAND this hand forms an ellipse, with rounded palm and conic, slightly pointed fingers. It is generally medium sized, though the fingers may be fairly long and it is often formed in combination with other hand shapes. In its pure form, the Conic Hand reveals an artistic temperament; its possessor has strong emotions and is particularly sensitive. They are responsive and instinctual, sometimes too much so. When a Conic Hand is soft and flexible, the person has quick, impulsive, generous nature that may move from enthusiasm to enthusiasm without landing anywhere. A firmer, thinner hand supplies the necessary sense of purpose and discipline to realize some of the grand visions the Conic mind dreams of.
THE IDEALISTIC or POINTED HAND is the most rare type of all. It is long, narrow, and delicate, with slender, tapering fingers and oval nails. It reveals a dreamy, almost otherworldly nature, drawn to the poetic, the spiritual, and the transcendent. These people are extremely sensitive and intuitive, but they are also fragile and impractical. Though their gentleness and natural grace make them lovable, you can never ask them to run to the store for some bread or show up at a specific time. The possessors of Idealistic Hands often have a somewhat melancholy outlook; the felling that they are useless and good for nothing can exacerbate this. So it is best to accept them as they re, rather than scolding them for their lack of pragmatism.
