| Palmistry Lesson Five The Head Line usually begins with the Life Line, under the Mount of Jupiter and runs downward across the hand of the toward the Mount of the Moon. A common perception is the longer the Head Line, the brainier you are, but this is too simple. As with many thing, size is less important than intensity. A long Head Line, stretching across the palm, simply expresses a wide field of understanding. If the line is straight, ending well above the Mount of the Moon, you have a powerful but practical intellect, along with strong rational powers and impressive ability to concentrate. A well-defined Head Line that slops down into the Mount of the Moon reveals a character just as smart, but more imaginative and artistic. A short Head Line, terminating under Saturn, say, implies only that you have a limited range of understanding, but may have profound knowledge within a certain field as long as the short line is well marked. You seem to have a one-track mind, may be shortsighted and are closed to new ideas. You like order and can assume leadership roles easily and are good at decision-making. |

A long Head Line means the greater your perception abilities are and a strong dedication to learning. You may be opinionated but love to learn. Companionships and many friends are important to you. Writing, teaching, public relations, or public speaking would be good jobs for you. A chained Head Line expresses either wavering concentration or a severe taxation of the mental powers. A break in the Head Line does not mean you will go crazy! It just means you will reorganize your thinking in a dramatic way. If the line is faint, you may be disorganized, have a wandering mind, and like new ideas but like doing things your way. |
| Traditionally, a Head Line that swoops all the way down to the wrist, following the Life Line, has been seen as a strong predictor of suicide. This seems too unqualified, but such a Head Line would certainly reveal a character with deep difficulty in differentiation between reality and imagination. A deep line means you use your wits and put your know-how to good use. You are optimistic and idealistic, always looking for that silver lining. You can be talkative sharing ideas, are organized and are good at inspiring groups. If the Head Line travels straight down, you like just the facts, and are cool and logical. If it cures gently down, you have a good imagination, but lacks attention to mundane tasks. You may tend to drift in and out of conversations, as you mind seems preoccupied. If the Head Line ends in a tassel-like fork, called a writers fork, this shows versatility and curiosity and inventiveness. The wider the fork, the more adaptable and resourceful you are with an ability to bring a breathe of fresh air to stagnate situations. |
