Did you houses can represent the dreamer? It symbolizes your body or various levels of the mind, we discussed this in the last lesson. One of the things will discuss in this lesson is that what other building can represent. Courts of law may symbolize the dreamer's powers of judgment; a museum can represent the past or your history, factories or mill often relate to the creative side of the dreamer.
In dreams, each room and floor can stand for different parts of the personality or mind, which should be connected, but often is not. We learned in the last lesson that the living room is the conscious and preconscious, the cellar the unconscious.
An unfinished house represent the self, an unfinished house or one in poor repair may be pointing out to the dreamer that work is needed on some aspects of the mind or body.
A door opening outward may mean a need to be accessible to others, while a door opening inward can be an invitation to self-exploration. If it is locked and that causes frustration, it could mean the dreamer should search for a new skill or idea to serve as a key. A door could also mean new openings in your waking life. |

Windows can represent the dreamer's ability to understand the outside world. If the window is clean and clear, the dreamer's understand is the same, if it is dirty and hard to see through, then the outside world is hard to see (understand). Looking in windows can represent your view of yourself. A wall may be an obstacle that prevents you from getting what you want. This may be from your waking life or something within yourself. Maybe you are being a brick wall by hiding your feelings or someone you know are hiding theirs. It could be a problem you can't solve yet. A library typically means the world of ideas, the available knowledge. Being distracted by other readers, or to fail to find a book may indicate the need for more concentration or determination.
Places of worship like a church; cathedral or temple can be the spiritual side of the dreamer, peace, or high wisdom. To feel that you are stranger inside a church may remind the dreamer to pay more attention to the spiritual side of life. It could also mean the dreamer needs more self-discipline or for allowing more time for inner exploration. To dream of being inside a castle suggest security, but may also remind us that the very strength of our psychological defenses may be isolating us from others. A lighthouse can mean guidance. It helps you safely through your journey, think about what has helped you. Was it a person, an idea, a thought? Dreaming of schools happen to old and young alike. In an older person it may be something they remember fondly or were embarrassed by. As an older person who finds themselves back in school, but have been demoted or stripped of some desired responsibility may symbolize childhood insecurities that have still not been resolved. The schoolteacher is a typical representation of authority weather is it a father or mother, or someone else. If the dreamer is sent to the office, it may mean feelings of inferiority, guilt, or simply a dread of having your misdeeds found out. |

Carrying a school bag, if full of books, pens, papers, and you seem happy about it could mean you are happy with the accumulated knowledge you have got. If the bag is heavy and hard to carry and you are not happy, you may be weighed down with memories. The classroom represents learning, and it is life long. It could mean looking back fondly, or a need to re-kindle the joy you felt, the ambition in your earlier life.
Now let us look at the seasons, and elements: In astrology, they use the four elements to symbolize the four essential qualities of mankind: Earth for fertility and steadfastness, Fire for ambition and the will, Water for the imagination, and Air for intelligence. Spring is a signal for a new beginning, while summer indicates achievement and the need to appreciate life. Autumn and winter are the hidden or darker side of the dreamer's self or an incubation period is needed before new ideas burst forth. Rivers and streams could mean the passing of time. Standing by a stream could mean the you are reflecting on the direction of life. Rivers also serve to remind us that it is possible to "flow" past obstacles that are in our way, instead of confronting them. Rainbows stand for satisfaction, good news, promise and forgiveness. They could be the magical quest for the treasure of self-knowledge, or for the bridge between heaven and earth that awaits you. |

Melting snow suggest fears and obstacles dissolving in your past, but snow can also mean transformation and purification. Ice can indicate petrifaction, a halt to progress or an obstacle in the way of creative flow. Ice can also mean a lack of emotional warmth, or you have not paid enough attention to your feelings.
Lightning means inspiration, but warns you that flashes of brilliance can also be destructive. It could also be showing you the awesome power of nature, the forces that are beyond your conscious control. Fire consumes but also allows new growth. In dreams it suggests the need for sacrifice, but at the same time promises to open up new opportunities. If the fire is out of control, the dreamer needs to take better care of their ambitions, they may be too aggressive. Sitting or lying on the ground (earth) may mean the importance of realism, an end to over-extravagant flights of fancy. Barren earth can mean that new ideas are about to come forth. Air is associated with wisdom lightly worn, and clarity of thought. You could be jumping in the air, riding a hot-air balloon, floating down from the air. Air is the element that symbolizes otherworldly concerns, but it could also be a warning of losing contact with reality.
We will end our lesson here, in the next lesson we will look into your actions in dreams, and animals. I would like to wrap up the sections on dreams in our next lesson, as this could go on for some time. If you are really interesting in dream interpretation, you could go to the library and find the books I suggested for the course as I could not possible cover everything here. |
