Lin/Alex drabble. Set during the film, but contains spoilers for the whole film.

 

And what can come of this?: shallowness

 

Alex keeps correcting her English. It is very annoying as she has been speaking it since before he was born, when learning it seemed practical.

 

This… is madness. He is just a boy beside her, but with the shoulders of a man, and perhaps a heart as loyal as a yeti’s. But he is hasty and arrogant, annoying… and nothing can come of this, Lin tells herself in many languages. The Sanskrit reminds her of her mother and her centuries of grief over Lin’s father, and yet that does not force this irritant of a man-boy out of Lin’s thoughts.
