HERE IS OUR ADVICE ON PREMATURE/ILL BABIES.....

Some babies want out early. Mine did! One of the newest finds in premature delivery is connected with infection in the mother's gum tissue.  I am convinced that this is why my babies came early. Watch for bleeding gums and sensitive and swollen gum tissues. Talk to your doctor/ dentist. Little babies who come early have a longer road to being a healthy newborn but it IS possible. There are so many new technological advancements in preemie care. The best treatment though is this...Kangaroo care. The power of a mommy's touch to her newborn is magical. Skin to skin. That little preemie will thrive!   (ozip)

Put YOUR worn nightshirt or pillow case in the incubator with your baby. Let the baby smell you. Put 2 small toys in there too. Put your picture of your family in the incubator too. Although he/she cant see it, it represents a family that is waiting and praying for a home coming.   (ozip)

Be prepared to have the baby early. I had my son a month early, my "hospital bag" was not packed, and the nursery was not quite done. I thought that I still had plenty of time.  (jacobsmomee)

Be prepared to do whatever it takes to keep that baby inside of you.  My 3rd child (a boy) was born 6 weeks early, one of the worst feelings in the world is leaving that hospital without your baby.  I cried all the way home and for the rest of the day.  With this pg, we knew it would be an early delivery also, I was admitted into the hospital at 33 weeks due to premature labor.  I was the best patient that hospital had because I knew I didn't want to leave that place without my baby.  It paid off.  I was hospitalized for 3 1/2 weeks (not easy with three other kids at home), but in the end, I got to take my daughter home with me.  (cl-mariap)
