If I could have done things differently....

Not had so many visitors in one day. You would not believe how much precious sleep you lose. Also, if you think your little one is having trouble with something...trust your instinct. My son ended up with a milk allergy that I figured he had from day 2, but the pediatrician said it was too early. Both he and I suffered for almost 3 weeks until I learned by trial and error. i would have kept up with my journal better. it is so hard to do, but so important. one thing i am doing is that every month on my son's birthday, i write in a journal that is for him one day. i write it too him and tell him all about how he is growing and learning and how much his daddy and i love him.   (kristin.g)

I would have NOT have given in to my craving as much! 52 pounds later I was really hating my rotundness. Watch out for Halloween Candy! It WILL come back to haunt you!!!!!!!!   (ozip)

Would not have been induced. My body was not ready, and caused an 18 hour labor. I was exhausted by the time my baby was born.   (toto8525)

I would have gotten my epidural as soon as my doctor told me i could have it.   (heidi_hibbit)

during labor I would have been more involved in my own care and decisions, when nothing was going early on and I was making no progress, I would have tried to demand to see the doctor more.   (ruth_73)

not get the Y2K flu a week before delivering. It makes it awfully hard to breathe the way they taught in birth classes   (petreece)

I would have taken more time to just relax during pregnancy instead of trying to accomplish everything "before the baby gets here". What I didn't realize is that there isn't time to relax after the baby is born. I also would have had my husband take more photos of my pregnant body as it gracefully (or sometimes not so gracefully) expanded, so that I could share them with my son when he is older.  (jacobsmomee)
