OUR ADVICE ON C-SECTION BIRTHS.....

I have had 2. One was a great experience and the other wasnt as much fun. Never did I feel guilty that I couldnt deliver the babies vaginally. If you have been the cocoon to this beautiful butterfly for 8/9 months you as a mommy have been successful! Dont get hung up on how the baby arrives. . Recovery is not as bad as it used to be several years ago. Just let family help more when you come home.   (ozip)

My c-sections were trouble free (all 3 of them). I recovered really well and quickly. In fact my last one went so well I was released from the hospital before the woman in the next bed who had a vaginal birth!   (_karen)

My c-section birth was very difficult. I was induced at 37 weeks for preeclampsia. My labor was 32 hours long and the epidural was not very effective. There were 20 minute breaks 4 to 5 hours apart that the pain would go away. After all of that, the baby never dropped and I had to have a c-section. If I could do it again, I would have insisted on the c-section earlier.   (ruth_73)

I had an emergency c-section because my daughter wasn't tolerating labor well. I went into my birth experience with the attitude that I would take things as they happened. I didn't have a strict birth plan because I didn't want to set myself up to be disappointed. (Murphy's Law follows me wherever I go) I had an epidural, I highly recommend them. Here's a tip: no one gives you a medal for having a drug free labor. Take the drugs they offer, they are wonderful. I had a tough recovery and it hurt and I was sore for at least 2 weeks but when you hold your child, honestly, it doesn't matter at all. I would have another c-section if I decide to do this again. I worried more about the episitomy during my pregancy than anything else. I was just relieved not to have to recover from that.  (esorrells)
