Breastpumps....

For a manual I recommend the Ameda Egnell. For the electric I love my Medela Pump-In-Style. I pump 3 times a day at work. If you can get yourself organized earlier, then I'd really recommend that you use it regularly after feedings before you return to work...at least 3 weeks in advance. Freeze whatever you don't use.  (jem0622)

If you are going back to work, buy the Medela Pump In Style. Buy it from www.babyloveproducts.com it is way cheaper than you can get it for in the states.   (kristin.g)

I have an Avent manual pump and like it alot, but I don't pump very often at all.   (mj68)

I tried many breastpumps but my favourite and the fastest was my very own hand. It's cheap, and, for me, a lot faster than any pump I've tried. The technique is tricky but I found photographic instructions in a book I got from the library (sorry, I don't remember which!). I always try to have one ot 2 extra bottles of milk in the freezer for emergencies  (_karen)

I had two, one was a manual Medela and the other was a power EvenFlo. I seemed to have better luck with the Medela, but the EvenFlo did do the job.   (ruth_73)

I really like the Medela Pump In Style. My friend (who works at Baby's R Us) has good luck with the Avent Isis hand pump.   (startoestudio)

Buy the best. Medela. There is a reason for the cost!   (petreece)

I had no luck with the manual pumps. Tried both the rented hospital-grade pump and the Pump-In-Style and they both worked great. (bailey3)

I had a baby who would not nurse because she was in the NICU after birth. I ended up exclusively pumping breast milk for her. I would recommend a Medela Pump In Style (PIS) which I eventually bought after I rented the Medela Lactina for 2 months. Both are excellent pumps and I have also heard very positive things about the Ameda Purely Yours. If you plan on pumping long term, spend the money, it is worth it.  (esorrells)
