Advice on going back to work....
This was so hard for me, and I hope that in the future that I'll be home with my son and other future children. I survived because of the support that I have, pictures all over my
desk, and he is not far from me...so his time there is a short as I can possibly make it. (jms0622) THIS is the single most heart wenching thing to do. But in most cases it is a necessity that is unavoidable. Pray you can find a
perfect daycare, or child care situation. For me, I enjoy working and balancing my time with my kids. But it isnt for everybody. Main line...dont let anyone make you for guilty for making the decision you have to make. (ozip)
Find a day care that you can trust and feel comfortable with and it makes it much less difficult to leave them. (ruth_73) I am doing that too and it is also difficult. Easier to get work done but harder to be away. Make sure you
really like/trust your care giver, call often and, if you are pumping, try to stay as calm and stress free as possible. I have changed my commuting hours so I am in early and leave early - less stress on me and less time wasted in the
car. (startoestudio) There are no two ways about it. It is hard to leave your baby with someone else. You will never feel that they love your baby as much as you, or care for your baby as well as you, and you're probably right. But you
will find someone who is caring and capable. If you don't have the right "feeling" about a caregiver or facility, walk away and keep looking. Eventually you will find someone whom you are happy with, but until you do, you won't be
able to be productive at work. This may mean starting your search months in advance. Some quality facilities have waiting lists that are months long. (jacobsmomee)
