Lesson 1

Introduction and the Nithendral Plant
Home
* Professor Munch enters his classroom carrying a purple-leaved plant which he places on his desk* " Can anyone tell me what this is?" * A brown haired boy lifts his hand and says: " It's a Chant Timineer Plant, Professor. " " Well done! 5 points to Hufflepuff!"  * Professor Munch then waves his wand and an antique looking bench appears in front of him. He sits down and surveys his class. "Hello and welcome to your first Herbology lesson! This term, we will be learning many things. First of all, I am Professor Munch. I wish to be addressed like that at all times. Professor will also do. Second of all, this classroom contains many plants which could suck the living daylights out of you in an instant, so please be careful. Oh by the way, you over there!"* Professor Munch points to a long black haired girl in the left back row. " Do be careful will you? You are awfully close to the Slicing Razor Plant.* The student quickly shifts her desk to the right.* " Well then, as I was saying, my classroom has many plants which can be very dangerous if they are not handled properly. But if you are careful, you have nothing to worry about. The first step in being careful, is to listen to instructions.

Today, I have a very interesting plant to show you all. Thanks to this plant, you are at this school today. * Professor Munch pulls out a plant about one foot high which was growing circle-shaped leaves the size of a quarter.* "This is called the Nithendral Plant. These plants have the unique quality of forming a substance which is 100 times stronger than cement when the leaves are powdered and it is mixed with water. Hogwarts has used this plant to create their famed walls which can resist basically any spell or damage. Gringotts as well have used this plant to create special barriers against the nastiest of spells.

Gerald the Green Thumb discovered the Nithendral in the year 535 B.C. This plant grows in every extreme of the planet.
