ABDI: Is a take on ABD, which means “all but dissertation.” ABDI then means “all but dissertation and internship” as I have to complete both to reach my highest degree. 

In case you are confused, I have a Bachelor’s degree from Carleton College and a Master’s degree from The University of Windsor (this is where anyone listening to “Ask Dr. Science” should laugh). That means you should not address me as, “Doctor” (which one day still would make me feel slightly on display). I will reserve the right, however, to have it printed on my cheques. You are free to call me, “Mister Mattson,” or, “Professor,” if you feel you must. I’ve been called, “Professor Mattson,” since I was 8 years old so I’m used to it. To be honest, I’d much prefer you just to call me “Scott.” I believe the hierarchical arrangement of human beings (and species for that matter) from better to lesser to be one of the main root causes for most of the messier and oppressive facets of living on this globe.
