Care of Magical Creatures

Welcome to your forth COMC lesson for this term everyone!
We have, as you, know, been dealing with quite agreeable, even cute creatures lately that could hardly be called dangerous. We havnt had more then a little pulling of hair or a little trowing of twigs. Today, we shall be diving into the topic of Creatures that a) will attack you no matter what and b) are poisonous. No need to worry, advanced does not mean more then XXX in the Ministrys classification ranking. Now I havnt had Mr Finch drape these curtains around the blackboard for fun...can you hear the buzzing? That is right back there! Todays topic is Doxies!
Those of you who come from Wizarding families might already have dealt with this wizarding household pest. You will find a little box in front of you on your desks. For those of you who havn yet peeked in: they contain a bottle of back liquid with a noozle at the end and a cloth. But let us come back to this later. I advise you nw to get out parchment and quill:
Doxies, class, are
not fairies. They have nothing in common with these cute little creatures you have been able to touch and carry around with you. They are their whole own family. Not cute, not kind, not vain, but poisonous. That right class, no gasping necessary, I have a bottle of antidote here. But we will get back to that later. Doxies, like Fairies, have the general anathomy of a tiny human being...with the difference that these lovely little creatures have an extra pair of arms and legs and is covered in thick black hair. The Doxy has, like Fairies and Pixies, a pair of wings, but they are thick and resemble much those of a bug. Doxies have double rows of sharp poisonous teeth. After having been bitten by a Doxy, an antidote is required. Other information you might need: Doxies enjoy cold climate...which makes vast parts of northern Europe and America rather agreeable for them...they lay up to 500 tiny black eggs at a time and bury them. Which means that the sun does the hatching. Which is done after two or three weeks, after which the little Doxies dig themselves out. It is a quite common disbelief that Earth is required for the Doxies to be able to lay their eggs. This is not true. No need to dig around in your plants pots after youve spotted a Doxy in your room. Todays common household pest Doxy enjoys living and breeding in curtains and tapestry.
Now enough of this, off to the fun part of the lesson. We have just learned that Doxies have loads of sharp poisonous teeth. I have the antidote here with me...but I rather nobody needed it. So would you please put your Dragonhide gloves on? Perfect. Now tie the prepared cloths around your faces. Like that...so it will cover mouth and nose. Right. Now that we all look like Highwaymen, please take up your antidote bottles. The spray woun do any harm to humans, but I suggest to use all you have on the Doxies. When the Doxies come out of the curtain, start spraying imediately! When we have knocked them unconcious, I shall hand them out one to each of you, stored in a glass, so youll be able to examine them carefully.
Ready? Ill now poke the curtains and make them come out...Spray!!
Your homework will be to give me as lively an account of your experiences as possible. Please note as usual that I will especially honour
long, well written assignments. Please also mention your experience with your Doxy in the glass in your homework.
Dont forget the termpapers!Nobody exept Miss Callaghan has bothered to tell me on which creature they shall be doing it. Please do so as soon as possible! Keep in mind that no higher then XXX is allowed!

Have fun doing your homework!
See you next lesson!
