About this page
All about what you can do at Hogwarts and HOW you can do it
How you can join: Well, the Help Desk answeres that question really, but as it is most important and the question people ask the most, Ill explain it once more. There is a small hat in the great hall and a link on the Help Desk page, both leading to a site showing the Sorting Hat Song. Just scroll down that page until you see, in big letters, the two words GET SORTED. Click on it and fill in the e-mail sorting form by describing yourself as good as you can. The Sorting hat will sent you an answering mail, telling you about the house he sorted you into. Please make sure the mails title is Sorting hat. Should you be an AOL e-mail user: AOL does refuse the usual Hogwarts mail in green-ink "handwriting" and sometimes it takes several days to make it accept any mail at all, so please stay patient.
Nicknames: You can pick a nickname when writing to the Sorting hat. Best would be if you didnt take one from the book, but made one up yourself. Information given in your Sorting mails is completely confidental and I will never ask you for your real name or adress. Should you wish it, your e-mail adress will be deleted imediately.
Classes: Like in the real Hogwarts, we have classes and homework. You get the possibility of picking your classes in your sorting mails, you have to pick at least three, you can pick as many as you want. Hogwarts has lots of different classes, this Hogwarts even has some that did not exist in the book. When walking trough the corridors, you can see which rooms are open, by checking wheather or not a flame is burning on top of the class collumn. Should there be a fire, click on the collumn, is there none, the class cannot be entered. To find put which class is where, simply visit the map. In case you would like to get faster to your class and dont like all that clicking, take the Floo Powder Network.
Homework:
Every teacher will give you a little homework after lesson. Usually they are neither difficult nor long and supposed to be fun. If you dont like your homework or have some ideas of your own, just contact your teachers, we are open for everything.
One good reason for doing your homework is, t
hat you recieve both housepoints and money for it. The other would be that it is fun both for you and your teacher!
Teachers
: Your teachers are about your age. Everyone can become a teacher and teachers are always needed. If you decided to take a class, you would be payed about 100 Galleons per month and subject (to be recieved after each update). To find out what classes are open for teaching, please check out the advertisment collumn!
Money:
Every pupil recieves about 20 Galleons after enrolling. This should help you buy your wand and other little essentials. Your money is stored in your account. More money can be earned by: doing your homework, opening a shop, becoming a teacher, working for the prophet etc.
Should you have been able to buy all the essentials on your list until the end of term, youll recieve an extra bonus (surprise!) and 100 housepoints!

Accounts:
Gringotts opens an account for every pupil, after they have been sorted. Those accounts contain some information about you (Hogwarts name and house), your money (updated after spending or recieving money, so you always know how much you own), the things you bought (your wand, pet, robes, etc.).
Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade
: You can buy all wizarding equipment there or open a shop. Shopowners get the Gringotts password an acces to customers accounts to put the things in there and recieve the money their customers payed.

If you have any more questions, please e-mail me, I would be more than happy to help you.
Have lots of fun at Hogwarts!

Yours,
Magnolia Magic,headmisstess
