In Memory of Anita Wilson
23.07.1941 - 27.08.2000

With pain in my heart, I'm informed that my fellow web mistress and dear friend, Anita Wilson, has passed away. Although we never met in real life, that has never kept us from developing a friendship over the years that people in reality probably dream of.

She has been a true inspiration for me, as well with creating greetingsearch, but also in real life. We were in many things total opposites of each other, but together a perfect team, respecting each others opinions and listening to each others advice, being there for each other when needed, or at least I hope.

I was the realist, she the one that brought in the magic, the little magic that everybody needs in life. She was always looking at things from the positive side, often making things easier to deal with in this harsh world.

Anita was a great poet, in which she showed her view on the world, or showed how she would like to see the world. "Song of the Light" is one of her poems in which she brings that, in my opinion, clearly forward, which you can read below.

I will miss our talks, our brainstorming, our laughing, her cheering me up in the times I needed it most, even without me needed to say anything, she just knew. Being there was often enough, words were not really needed. I will miss her emails, something I'm so used to; always opening with a cheerful "Hello Patrick" followed by a big smile. I will miss our talks on live voice chat, ICQ, IRC, she chattering away, I just could imagine her sitting behind the keyboard, fiery hitting those keys as fast as she could. I will miss her presence as part of my life. Because Anita was, although we never met face to face, a part of my life.

I will continue Greetingsearch, although it will never be the same without her input, but I think she wouldn't want it different. Her spirit will always wander across the page, and I will always think to myself when doing something new, or changing something, "what would Anita do or think".

I wish her husband John and her children and grandchildren all the strength needed to overcome the gab that fell in their lives.

With tears in my eyes I have to say goodbye, but out of sight doesn't means out of mind, because no matter where you are, you will always have a special place in my heart that I will cherish and guard.

Patrick

"Song of the Light"

"Song of the Light"

If you are happy, share with others
If you are sad, let them share your pain
If you are troubled, look for friendship
To help you walk your Path again

If you stumble, keep on walking
If you fall, look for a helping hand
If the darkness threatens you, see ME
I will walk with you through the land

If you are doubtful, look for wisdom
If you are fearful, reach for the light
If you are cold, gather the warmth
Of the Source, that shines so bright

Love the person that is in you
Love the ones that do not belong
Love the joy, in the world around you
Listen carefully to our planets Song

Know, that love consist of giving
Know, that love can heal a pain
Know, that love is a celebration
A great Joy, to be shared again

Do not cause, others to fear you
Do not cause in another, strife
Do not cause, anothers downfall
Do not take an innocent life

Build a shield for your protection
Build a shelter for the coming rain
Build a world that is made for growing
Build up courage, to start again

Understand, the needs of others
Do not judge, whether it is right
Have respect for each others choices
Remember this, you Child of Light
