JOAN ANITA
Joan Anita, a Dutch born Australian, and I were married for
over 38 years.
Sadly she passed quietly away in her sleep 28th August
2000.
She was, and still is, not only my true love, but my partner and most
of all my best friend. I still feel her presence with me each day.
In memory
and respect for her country of birth, Anita wanted to retain the use of Oma and
Opa for the grandchildren.
She would have preferred to have used her second
given name of Anita, but believed people would not accept the change, since she
had been called Joan from birth. I tried to assure her people would soon get
used to the change if she did not respond to Joan:)
I always loved her name
of Anita and in my heart she was Anita. From here on I will refer to Anita when
discussing her.
Anita was a very special person. A child-woman, a regular
"Pollyanna", who refused to judge people on just their negative aspects. In
turn, people responded positively to her in the same way. She touched so many
with her spirit during her life.
Many did not realise how ill she was. They were shocked at her passing and also when told she had been ill for so long a time.
On The Web, she received the nickname of Katje, which means kitten in Dutch
and she was our special little kitten.
She was highly intelligent, imaginative and very artistic. She wrote and had published children's stories and poetry. She was a gifted craftswoman and artist. She was very quick to learn and had an excellent grasp of ideas and concepts.
To view and enjoy her work go to Katje's Domain and Anita's Memorial Sites: This will provide links to her sites and links to the sites of her friends.
