Group 1 Multiple Intelligences Among Nursing Students in the SOCKSARGEN Area (CHECK ON OUR AGREEMENT) Introduction Objectives of the Study Limitations of the Study This study is limited only to nursing students in the SOCSKSARGEN area Significance of the Study Definition of Terms Chapter II - Theoritical Framework & Related Literatures Check this link to look at your related literatures http://mcel.pacificu.edu/jahc/jahcII3/K12II3/Cantuindex.html Discuss learning theory as your framework Your related literatures will heavily discuss multiple intelligence It has been claimed by some researchers that our intelligence or ability to understand the world around us is complex. Some people are better at understanding some things than others. For some of us it is relatively easy to understand how a flower grows but it is immensely difficult for us to understand and use a musical instrument. For others music might be easy but playing football is difficult. Instead of having one intelligence it is claimed that we have several different intelligences. These are listed below: Kinaesthetic - Body Smart Linguistic - Word Smart Logical - Number Smart Interpersonal - People Smart Intrapersonal - Myself Smart Musical - Music Smart Visual/Spatial - Picture Smart Naturalistic - Nature Smart Kinaesthetic - Body Smart You may be body smart. You will enjoy sports and are good at swimming, athletics, gymnastics and other sports. This is sometimes called being Kinaesthetic smart. Logical - Number Smart You may be number smart. You will be good at mathematics and other number activities; you are also good at solving problems. This is sometimes called being Logical smart. Intrapersonal - Myself Smart You may be myself smart. You will know about yourself and your strengths and weaknesses. You will probably keep a diary. This is sometimes called being Intrapersonal smart. This is sometimes called being Naturalistic smart. Chapter III - Methodology Introduction The research methodology will be described in this section and will include the design, sample of the population, setting of the population, instruments used to collect the data, procedures for conducting the research, analysis of data, limitations of the study, and a time line for completion of the project. Research Design This study is descriptive in nature and will look into the multiple intelligences of nursing students of three schools in General Santos City Setting or Locale The setting for this study will be the three nursing schools namely, NDDC, GSDMSF and BCS in General Santos City. Questionnaires will be sent by the researchers to the school's dean. A packet containing a cover letter, a demographics sheet, the instrument, and a pen will be provided to the subjects. The subjects were asked to complete the questionnaires in their home environment and return the questionnaire via self-addressed, envelope within five days of receipt. Sampling and Respondents The proponent will utilize the Slovin's formula in determining the desired number of respondents for the study. The nursing students of the 16 nursing schools in SOCSKSARGEN Area A list of 1,800 nursing students meeting the inclusion criteria for the study will be obtained from the Philippine Nursing Students Alliance in General Santos City. A simple random sample will be obtained by numbering the subjects from 1 to 1,800 and using a table of random numbers to obtain 200 subjects. Inclusion criteria for the sample of registered nurses included (a) a sophomore student, and; (b) between 18 and 20 years old. Exclusion criteria included all nursing students who are not currently affiliated with the three nursing schools in General Santos City. The researchers include all subjects who will meet the inclusion criteria and complete and return the questionnaires within the time frame allotted for the study. Procedure The proponent will send a notice for the conduct of research to the respective deans of the nursing schools . After securing approval from the latter, the proponent will send the packet of questionnaire to the school. Instrumentation The proponent will make use of the Multiple Intelligences Questionnaire. Usage of the said questinnaire does not need any permission as this is available in the public domain Questionnaire Multiple Intelligences Questionnaire Place a tick next to each of the questions you answer "yes" to and tally up your score for each intelligence.
