How to choose a college for MBA Program
in TamilNadu
The tips and opinions may be useful to select a self financing  college in Tamilnadu to undergo MBA program. These are written for the benefit of all. There is no personal bias on any account.
1. Choose a college in which the fees, Capitation fees or Donation is equal and same for all the students. There is no discrimination based on caste, religion etc.,.
   Don't join the colleges in which bargains are done like a fish market and through brokers.
2. Choose the college in which the HOD - MBA is a full Time MBA graduate from a good college / university.  If possible verify the truth. You can not learn anything from the part-time MBA men and Distance Educated individuals. They can neve make you great.

3. Choose a college in which MBA HOD is less than 55 years old. Elderly HOD's can never help you to learn. They can just teach and go. They are unfit to administer the department for the welfare of the students.
4. Choose a college in which at least 7 Full time faculty members are available in the MBA department. (for 60 Students). Out of which at least 4 members are Full Time MBA graduates. Don't hesitate to collect details.
5. Reject the colleges that are compeling the MBA students to wear uniform dress. These colleges are deviating from the core business. The freedom is an important thing in life.

6. Reject the colleges that compel to pay the annual transport charges and insist travel in their own bus. If they charge equal/ less than/ 20% extra than the public transport you can appreciate that college. Reject the colleges that apply penalty to the students traveling in the public transport. Freedom is the most important thing in life.

7. Reject the colleges that compel to pay the entire annual cost of food at once. If you pay ask for details of return if the facility is withdrawn.These colleges are deviating from the norms and culture.

8. Reject the colleges that are arrogant and disobedient to AICTE and University norms and guidelines. Look for the news and web sites for black listed colleges. University staff and workers can give tips on these colleges. Spend some time to collect the name of good colleges froim univeristy teachers and staff.

9. Choose the colleges in which the Principal / HOD MBA is  staying for more than 3 years. If new HOD is there ask for his talents and details.

10. Before joining any college collect the details of events and programs from the current students and aalso  about the Guest lectures, Industrial visits, Fair treatment in awarding marks etc. Gathere also details about the good and bad experiences in the campus

1. Check the attitude of the Management towards teaching community and Faculty development. Colleges that are terminating the teachers at the end of academeic year are bad colleges. They can neve achieve and claim academic excellence.

2. Look at the notice boards and displays. The languages of HOD, Principal etc., may reveal the campus culture. Look at the old magazines and news letters of the college , they may speak  a lot about the college environment.

13. Look at the Time table of the MBA department- That shows how you will be engaged in the program for a year or semester. That shows the academic level of the institution.

14. Check the attitude of the Management and Faculty towards the students and their welfare. For that you have to talk to people and gather news.

15. Beware of Window Dressing - Especially colleges claiming ISO certification. Just paper works and filing records may not mean quality.

16. A college is a good college if it spends time, labour and materials to keep its toilet and floors clean. And also provide good and hygene drinking water for students and staff.
