| About Playing Chess... |
| I learned to play chess, while I was studying 11th standard. Some one from my village taught me basics. Later, when I was studing in Anna University, I learned fully through a book named, " Chess for beginners" by SOKOLOSKY, a Russian author, MIR publisher The book is really worth to read and I was fully satisfied. I had never seen such a book later in my life. To play chess, you need a good play mate. I got one when I was doing my BE. His name is Mr. Bhuvaneswaran, from Sivakasi. He is now an Electrical engineer in NHPC, in Orissa. A good playmate will appreciate the opponent's move and will not feel shy to lose the game. One should not try to always win. Bhuvaneswarn is my best playmate, I ever come across. After long years, now in 2001, I got a playmate to play chess in Muscat. His name Mr. Ali Udeen. Once or twice we played continuously for 12 hours, we started on a Thursday evening at about 6.00 PM and ended playing next day morning at 6.00 A.M, we played nearly 30 games. |
