The Missouri, Kansas, & Texas Railroad was born May, 1870. The MKT was better known as the "KATY" and had its origin as the Union Pacific Railway, Southern Branch a year earlier. This slideshow depicts some of the scenes found along the Katy Trail on the old rail bed from Sedalia MO to St Charles MO (about 190 miles). These pictures were taken and are made available by Charles Smith Jr.
The midi is "Working on the Railroad".
