Chapter 2 - The Journey Begins
Saruman: "Smoke rises from the mountain of Doom. The hour grows late, and Gandalf the Grey drives to Isengard seeking my council. Ah, good times. For, that is why you have come, is it not, my old friend? If not, get out. Now. Go on, shoo."
Gandalf and Saruman enter Saruman's Isengard garage, and talk.
Saruman: "Sauron has regained much of his former strength. He cannot yet take physical form and he been keeping himself amused with eye-spy games with the orcs. Concealed in his fortress he sees all, which makes it tough on the orcs. His gaze pierces cloud, shadow, earth, flesh, women's clothing and spandex. You know of what I speak. A great eye, lidless, wreathed in flame. The orcs are terribly intimidated and have given up making bets on the games. The hour is later then you think, Sauron's forces are already moving. The Nine have left Minas Motor."
Gandalf: "The nine?! They have reached the Shire!"
Saruman: "They will find the key, and kill the one who carries it."
Gandalf: "Frodo!"
Gandalf tries to leave but is stopped by Saruman. They battle, proding each other repeatedly with their staves. Gandalf gives in, after a particularly nasty kidney-prod.
Saruman: "I offered you the choice of aiding me willingly, but you have elected the way of pain. "
Gandalf: "Aren't those two ways the same?"
Saruman: "Yes, but my way is slightly faster and done with style."
Saruman banishes Gandalf to the watch-tower without a second thought.
