| checking your codes in the gt,lx,dx probes/mx6's and 626's | ||||||||||||||
| Parts needed are: About 5" of wire Pen and paper Take the 5" of wire and connect it to the the single red wire located just between the driverside strut tower and the firewall. The wire is not connected to anything.So stick one end of the 5"wire and connect it to the red wire and then ground the other end anywhere. I usually ground it to the strut nuts. After you have connected and grounded the wire then get in the car then put your key in and turn it to the start position. DO NOT TURN THE CAR ON!!! you will see the CEL light(check engine light) come on and start blinking. The short blinks are second digit and the long blinks are the first digits. While taking the codes note that the car only has 42 codes. Also note if you get the same code twice that that is all the codes as once they have finished they will repeat themselves. Once you have finished with the codes then disconnect the wire from the test connector. |
