Here's the list of tools needed:
Tools: 1/2" Ratchet, 3/8" ratchet, 13mm wrench, full socket set is best, but you will for sure need sockets in the following sizes: 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, and 14mm, pliers, "whizzer" tool with sand paper if possible,
otherwise use sand paper intended for use on metal parts, I found a pocketknife also useful when removing the old gasket, and one small tube of silicone gasket sealant.

Replacing the water pump on the 3.0 V6 is actually a pretty simple job (I had never done one on this engine and I didn't have access to power tools).

The first thing you want to do is take out the windshield washer fluid and coolant reserviors (8mm? bolt on the front, disconnect the tube to the radiator, slide it off the bracket).  Loosen the water pump pulley (4
13mm bolts).  The tension the belts put on the pulley is enough to keep it still while you're removing the bolts.  Start removing the belts (2 10mm bolts for the Alternator belt tensioner and a 1/2" ratchet in the auto
tensioner for the serpentine belt).  Then remove the auto tensioner (3 bolts, I think they are 14mm).  You should have full access to the water  pump now.

I think they were 12mm long bolts and 8mm screws.  The pulley will come off with the old pump (there is not enough room to get the pulley off first).  You are going to need to lift up on the alternator to pull the
water pump out.  Sand down the mating surface really well, but make sure the surface is still flat.  I used a pocket knife and 4 sheets of sand paper intended to sand down metal with different grit numbers (don't remember the numbers though, sorry).  When you put the new pump on, be sure to get some
silicone sealant and put it on both sides of the gasket.  Then, just do the directions in reverse to put everything back together.  The job took me about 3 hours because the gasket took over an hour to remove.  The actual
book time on this is 3.5 hours.  I hope this helps you out.  If you have any questions, feel free to email me at
