Quad Headlight Conversion

The quad headlight conversion is basically taking out the stock headlights and replacing them with two fog/driving lights and leaving them at a fixed height for a custom look, Basically, all you have to do is turn on the lights and then locate the Retra Fuse in your Fuse box under the hood. After popping out this fuse you can turn your headlights off now and the light will stay in the up position. Take off the black plastic cover that surrounds the perimeter of the light. There are two screws, one on each side near the front top of the piece. After removing these screw use a flathead screwdriver or somrthing similar to carefully pry the rear part of the piece off and then it just pops right off. There are four small phillips head screws holding the HL to it's bracket two on the top and two on the bottom. Remove these screws and the headlight should come out with little fuss. Disconnect the harness from the back of the light and this is where it can get easy or become a pain in the ass. Left behind is a rectangle bracket that the light was screwed into. If the harnesses that hold your lights are small enough you can just screw them straight into this. Drill two small holes and use the mounting equipment that comes with the lights and then adjust your aim and headlight height via the knobs behing each HL and you are done except for the wiring. I just spliced the factory HL harnesses and wired them directly to the wires. On my 93 base the High Beam +12 volt wire is the RED/WHITE wire the low beam is RED/BLACK, the ground is Black w/maybe another color but it will always be mainly black. Each light needs a +12 volt wire and a ground. Wire the ground for both lights to the same one and the 12 volt wire to it's appropriate beam.

This is the "pain in the ass" part I was talking about. If you have fogs that are to big like mine were then you have to attach the harness to the underside of the HL cover itself. I used J.B. Weld but this stuff has to set up so after you adhere the bracket to the underside of the cover you have to take an object of some type and then manually close the light tight down on top of it to hold the bracket in place while the J.B. Weld sets up. Give it 24 hours if you can, if your in a hurry 12 hours should do but try not to hit the bracket as it may break loose. Then aim and adjust as needed.
