Cam rubbed his eyes, fighting back fatigue as he continued to type at his workstation. He had to keep his mind clear for the task ahead. He looked up at the images of the Amulet on the screen. His family’s Amulet, passed down to him from his mother. For the longest time, he wondered if he would ever see it again. If it hadn’t been for his father arriving at the Abyss and rescuing Cam, Hunter and Blake from falling to their death, he might not have.

As happy as he was to have his father back, Cam knew this was not the time to rest. They were lucky to come across the Samurai when they did. He needed CyberCam’s help to draw the Ranger powers out of the Samurai Amulet and back into their power discs. If they were successful, then they would stand a chance of helping the Dino Rangers deal with Tori, Shane, and Dustin.

“How’s it coming?” Hunter leaned over Cam’s shoulder.

“I’m not sure.” Cam replied. “Whatever Lothor has done to the Amulet since going into the Abyss, it’s caused the energy to become unstable.”

“Can you still recharge the Ninja Ddiscs?” Hunter asked, concerned.

“I think so.” Cam responded, trying to hide the uncertainty in his voice. “CyberCam?”

“Yo!” the cybernetic replicant called out from a nearby console.

“Monitor the frequency output,” Cam ordered. “It’s imperative that we lock down the individual energy signatures if we are going to recharge the Power Discs.” His cyber twin just nodded, returning to work.

“How much longer?” Blake snapped from across the room.

“Soon.” Cam answered, turning towards the Thunder Ninja. Blake had been pacing the floor since they arrived at Ninja Ops. It was obvious to Cam what was on his mind. “We’ll get her back, Blake. I promise.”

“And just how do we plan to do that?” Hunter asked. “Fight them?”

“The key is in the Power Discs.” Cam explained. “If we can get the three of them to switch their evil ones for the ones we have here, then it should break the hold Lothor has on them.”

“The trick is going to be getting them to switch discs without a fight.” Hunter concluded.

“We must avoid a battle at all cost.” Sensei stated as he entered Ninja Ops with Marah’s puppy nipping at his heels. “Despite their actions, Tori, Shane and Dustin are still innocent pawns in Lothor’s plans.”

“If this works,” Cam interjected. “A battle won’t be necessary.” He returned his attention to the monitor. “Everything is in place. All we need now is to lock down the energy signatures and we should be ready to transfer the power.”

“Consider it done, dude!” CyberCam called out. “Energy signatures are locked and we’re ready to roll.”

“Ok, everyone. Stand back.” Cam instructed, as he typed the last lines of code into the system and slammed down the activation button. Quickly the Samurai Amulet began to shine brighter and brighter. As everyone shielded their eyes, an explosion rocked the room, blowing out a nearby console. As the dust settled, Cam lowered his arms to look at the five Power Discs, now glowing with energy.

“Did it work?” Hunter asked.

“Not exactly.” Cam replied. “I did manage to transfer our powers back to the appropriate discs, but their energy is still highly unstable. We’ll be able to morph, but I don’t know if or when the power could give out on us. Maybe if I...”

“We so don’t have time for this.” Blake interrupted.

“Blake’s right.” Hunter added. “The longer we wait here, the more damage Shane and the others could do. We need to get out there now. “

Nodding in agreement, Cam rose from his chair and collected the Samurai Amulet, which returned to its dormant state in the blink of an eye. “Remember, we have to avoid a battle with Shane, Tori and Dustin at all costs.” Cam explained as he placed the amulet around his neck.

“Agreed.” Hunter nodded as he and Blake claimed their Power Discs. “We only morph if they give us no other choice.”

“What about us?” Mei Lien called out as she entered the room.

“We wish to be of assistance, Cameron.” Hiro added as he joined his students.

“Oh, and you need gas.” Mei Lien remarked as she tossed Hunter his keys.

“We will need everyone’s help, Grandfather.” Cam explained. Since Grandfather couldn't Ninja Streak, Mei Lien had offered to stay behind and drive him back from the Abyss in Hunter's truck. Now that they were here, Cam could put his plan into action “We’ll need you three to join us as backup. If we aren’t able to free the Wind Rangers, we may need you to help us overpower them until we can come up with another solution.”

“What about Shimazu?” Mei Lien asked.

Cam thought for a moment as Mei Lien informed the group of their recent encounters. In all the excitement, he had forgotten that Marah and Dustin had informed him of Shimazu’s return. “We can deal with Shimazu later. Right now, Lothor and the Wind Rangers pose the biggest threat.” The three Samurai nodded in agreement.

“Dad, I need you to go to this address.” Cam handed his father a folded up piece of paper. “It’s the home of Dr. Tommy Oliver, a member of the Dino Ranger team. If we don’t make it back, the Dino Rangers are going to need your help if they hope to stand a chance against Lothor.”

“I understand.” Kanoi said, placing his hands on his son’s shoulders. “I have never been more proud of you, Cam.”

“Thanks, Dad.” Cam replied with a smile. In a flash of speed, Kanoi was gone.

“Not to put a downer on the warm fuzzy moment, bro.” CyberCam interrupted. “But the computer has locked on to the Wind Rangers location.”

“Alright.” Cam said, returning to his computer. “Grandfather, since you can’t Ninja Streak, I am going to use our teleportation system to send you three to their location.”

Hiro nodded in agreement. “Time is of the essence, Cameron. Do what you must.”

“You might feel a bit disoriented at first,” Cam explained to the Samurai as he typed. “But you should arrive as soon as the rest of us do.”

Hiro nodded. With a push of the activation button, the three Samurai disappeared n a flash of light. Satisfied, Cam made a mental note to thank Kapri for bringing the teleportation system back online when this was all over.

“Okay, now that that’s covered." Hunter began. “Do we know just how we are going to get those Power Discs away from the others?”

Cam rose from his chair with a determined look on his face. “I have a plan.”

Hiro steadied himself as his vision filled with the new scene. He had had no way to prepare for the teleport, this having been the first time for him to experience it. As soon as he gathered his wits, he reached out and pulled Cy and Mei Lien along, leading them to a good vantage point. Sounds of combat filled their ears as they approached. They ducked cautiously behind a large stone outcropping and watched. The three Wind Sensei faced three kids. Hiro shook his head.

Hiro began tracking Shane’s battle. Shane was just beginning an attack at the brash, young man in red. He proved to be a new warrior, for he began darting around and at near Ninja Streak speed. It was a minor shock to the Air Ninja but he quickly began to compensate with his attacks.

Dustin squared off with the kid in blue. Punches flew as the combat escalated. Just as Dustin began to pull Earth Ninja tricks, the young man repelled an attack with blue scale armor which materialized on his arms. So there was more to these kids than Hiro had realized.

Just as this occurred, Hiro noticed the young girl was facing Tori. He had never seen such brutality fly from the Water Ninja. Hiro was not surprised to find the girl in yellow had a secret inner strength as well, for just as Tori launched a powerful water attack, the younger girl screamed. The scream took physical form and countered the water attack, causing an impressive explosion. Suddenly, Hiro wasn’t quite as worried about these kids, but still they were outmatched.

The two teams squared off once again. It looked as though the Sensei trio were preparing to finish off the younger Rangers. Cy shifted. Hiro noticed that Cameron, Blake, and Hunter were strolling up to the Wind Sensei. Words were exchanged as the Thunders and Cameron approached them. Cameron extended his hand, offering the gleaming disks he had prepared.

The three Wind Sensei opened their morphers and flung the old power disks to the ground. It seems Cameron’s plan was working. Hiro smiled. His grandson was once again making him proud. As each Wind Sensei replaced the disks, Cam, Blake, and Hunter watched carefully. Hiro nodded, they had to continue the ruse. He felt bad for the kids, they were shakened by the additional foes. As the three closed their morphers, they were knocked off balance by the shift. And the Wind Rangers came to their senses. As questions were exchanged, he watched the younger three approach the elder Rangers.

Hiro turned to his two students. “Our work here is done. Our army is larger. But now we have things we must attend to, mainly Shimazu.”

Cy and Mei Lien nodded and fell into step as Hiro strolled down the hill and back into the woods.

“So where are we going now?” Cy bobbed his head as he kicked a stick out of his way.

“We will track that fool who has been tracking us all day long.” Hiro smiled.

“He keeps finding us. How are we going to find him first?” Mei Lien whispered.

“The easiest way for the prey to find the hunter is for the prey to act like it’s hunted and return to the fields where the hunter hunts.”

“Does Hunter know about this?” Cy snickered.

“Undoubtedly,” Hiro retorted. “Hunter strikes me as an extremely good hunter.”

“Someone should warn Cam.” Mei Lien giggled. “Hunter seems rather intent on him.”

Hiro glanced at Mei Lien. He pondered her comment as he led them back toward the last place the three Samurai had battled Shimazu.

****

He watched in silence as the warriors left the battlefield, unaware of his presence. Despite their impressive abilities, they would pose no threat to him, even with the power within the Samurai Amulet. In his hand, he could feel the energy radiating off of the three Power Discs, abandoned by the three ninjas who had wielded their power. It amazed him that warriors of such skill could so easy disregard something so valuable.

In the end, it would not matter.

He would let Kiya Watanabe play his part.

Soon, he would be ready.

****

After some time, Cy mumbled, “Well, we just passed the last place we fought Shimazu-dude.”

“True. If there is any chance of finding his trail, it will start here.” Hiro nodded.

“He fled in this direction.” Mei Lien pointed down a beaten path.

Hiro looked at both of them. “Prepare yourself.” He checked his swords and started off the direction that Mei Lien had indicated.

“What’s to prepare?” Cy shrugged as he watched Mei Lien close her eyes and inhale. “I’m me.” She exhaled, her eyes opened, and she smiled widely at him.

“Sounds like you’re prepared.” She winked and followed Hiro.

“For Shimazu… yes.” Cy retorted, “For you, heh… I’m not so sure,” he whispered under his breath as he smiled. Quickly, he took a few steps to join Mei Lien.

The three were approaching a clearing. As they broke the line of trees, they found that they were surrounded. Shimazu stood directly in Hiro’s way. The three Wolfblades stood two to his left, and one to his right. Fanning out on either side were about a dozen Kabukified Kelzaks. Hiro nodded. He would have to inform his grandson on the connection between the altered Kelzaks and the Kabuki masked general. Hiro drew his swords. He heard both Mei Lien and Cy take stance beside him. Hiro pointed at Shimazu with his katana. All three Samurai charged forward.

Shimazu fell back, allowing his Wolfblades to meet the elder Samurai. Cy sprung at the black Blades. Mei Lien covered the Kelzaks. Hiro took on the other two Blades. Despite the fact that the Samurai were numbered, Shimazu’s forces were being driven back.

“If we want to break from the trees, there’s a quarry about 50 meters to our left.” Cy called out as he slid under the attack of his Wolfblade evading an errant Kelzak.

“Why would we want to fight in a rock quarry?” Hiro’s voice carried over the howls of the other two Blades as his swords cut them.

“It’s a Ninja thing, you wouldn’t understand.” Mei Lien retorted as she kicked two Kelzaks simultaneously.

****

Blake’s mind was racing as he sprinted towards the edge of the quarry. After rescuing Tori, Shane, and Dustin, the group had joined Sensei at the lab of Dr. Tommy Oliver, the Black Dino Ranger. After being joined by Trent, the fifth and final member of their team, as well as Cam’s friend, Hayley, the group had barely been given a chance to regroup before an alarm sounded; alerting the Rangers that Lothor and Mesogog had made their next move.

Coming to a stop, Blake peered into the quarry below. A large group of monsters awaited them, ready to attack. Some he recognized, others he didn’t. Not that it matters, Blake thought to himself. Lothor and his goons had cost them so much. Now was the time for payback.

“Let’s be careful.” Dr. Oliver warned. “But let’s get it done.” The others nodded in agreement.

“Are you guys ready?” Conner exclaimed

“Ready!” the Rangers exclaimed, raising their morphers in unison.

“Dino Thunder! Power up!”

“White Ranger! Dino Power!”

“Ninja Storm! Ranger Form!”

“Thunder Storm! Ranger Form!”

“Samurai Storm! Ranger Form!”

“HA!”

In a flash of multicolored light, the heroes stepped forward, morphed and ready for battle.

“Tyranno!”

“Tricera!”

“Ptera!”

“Brachio!”

“Drago!”

“Dino Thunder!” The Dino Rangers cried, poised for battle.

“Power of Air!”

“Power of Water!”

“Power of Earth!”

“Crimson Thunder!”

“Navy Thunder!”

“Samurai Power!”

“Ninja Storm!” the six exclaimed in unison.

Together, the Rangers leapt into the quarry. Eleven united as one, ready for battle.

“Ranger Power!”

****

Shimazu watched the fight as he stepped back into the trees. It was wonderful to see his Wolfblades all working again. It was wonderful to taste the possibility of victory again. Then he caught some familiar sound. Skirting around the trees, he climbed the hillside to a rather large rock quarry. He tried to remember if he had ever battled at this particular quarry, as he gazed down for the source of the sound.

He fell back in shock and amazement. Some of the generals he had once fought with were gathering below. Lothor was not there, but he had an army gathering. He was about to face the Rangers. Shimazu looked to other side of the quarry. Eleven Rangers. He, himself, should go to Lothor’s aide, but what about the Blades? Would they get distracted with no leader there to guide them. What about the Samurai? The Samurai would help the Rangers if the Blades fell.

No. A better plan. He would send the Wolfblades. He would take care of the Samurai himself. Lothor would know who sent the Wolfblades. He would get credit for helping in the fight against the Rangers and he would get credit for handling the Samurai pests.

Shimazu hurried back to the battle. He pulled his pipe out and commanded his Wolfblades. The Blades howled in answer and trotted out to the quarry. Shimazu jumped at the elder Samurai.

****

Cy looked around. The Wolfblades were leaving? He watched as his grandfather caught the attack Shimazu had launched. He turned swiftly, just in time to counter an attack on Mei Lien from a Kelzak that was getting the better hand.

Her face registered a smile of thanks before she met the next attack.

Cy shrugged and began helping her. As much as he would have liked to follow the Wolfblades, they weren’t going to get anywhere until these Kelzaks were dealt with.

Just as Cy was beginning to feel he was getting nowhere and the worry of the Wolfblades was setting in, Hiro called back, “Cy, check where they went?”

“I’m on it like a hobo on a ham sandwich.” Cy grinned wildly and darted off. He heard Mei Lien giggling as he left the clearing.

He scampered up the rock face, peering into the quarry ahead… yep… always the quarry. He smiled to himself. And then his smile dropped. Eleven Power Rangers faced an enormous amount of foes. Six of the Power Rangers were extremely familiar.

“Yeah, go Flesh-bro!”

He watched the enemies square off. The Wolfblades were down there alright. And Cam was getting a piece of one.

He hurried back to his Sensei.

“Cam’s got them… Cam and about ten other Rangers.” Cy chuckled. “Well, not just them… a whole army of uglies, too.”

“Cameron and the others will see to them then. We will see to this.” Hiro responded, his voice still strong, but fatigued.

Cy realized then, this fight had better end soon. Both Hiro and Mei Lien were tiring… He launched on the nearest Kelzak. They really needed end this soon.

Howls echoed above their fight. Cy glanced at Shimazu. The mask showed worry. Was he really going to bolt?

“Trade ya!” Cy yelled as he took off after Shimazu. He had hoped his grandpa would turn and help Mei Lien. The absence of footsteps told him he was right. He trailed Shimazu to the quarry.

Shimazu stopped and looked down in horror. Cy smiled. Cam must have trashed those rabid hounds. Shimazu looked like he was about to head down when Cy ran up on him. He turned to Cy.

“I wouldn’t go, Dude. It’s so-oo over.”

“I will have my revenge for this!” Shimazu spat. And then he teleported.

Cy strolled over to the rock edge. He saw the Rangers were wrapping up the battle. He nodded. Sensei G-pa would be so proud of his fleshy bro… Cy blinked… They were still fighting.

He darted back and arrived just in time to see Mei Lien put a finishing move on the last Kelzak in sight. Hiro leaned on a tree as he sheathed his swords with tender care.

“Rangers won. As always,” Cy smiled. “Oh, and Shimazu’s pissed that his pups are dead.”

“As would be expected.”
