“This is Amanda Avila with a news brief. Tonight, Blue Bay Harbor remains under siege as an unnamed man continues his reign of terror which began earlier today. Legions of monsters and other creatures continue reeking havoc on our streets, leaving citizens trapped in their homes, fearing for their lives.

It was times like these when we would look to those mysterious multi-colored heroes, the Power Rangers, to save us. With the Rangers having been missing for months, many have given up hope. While others speculate that the black clad warriors that have appeared in recent months are connected to the Power Rangers, even they have fallen before this new threat.

Frustrated, Cam turned off the news feed. Looking around, he saw Mei Lien attending to Kapri’s shoulder, while the others were scattered across Ninja Ops nursing their own injuries. On the console before him were images of the Samurai Amulet. With the current situation, he had tried once more to see if there was any way to salvage their lost Powers. Unfortunately, the result was the same. Just when they needed their Powers the most, they were gone. He couldn’t remember a time where he felt more defeated.

Dustin finally broke the silence. “Man, we got worked.”

“Not to mention the fact that we lost our only Zord in the process.” Tori added.

“I’ve never seen anyone with moves like that before.” Shane commented. “No human could move that fast.”

“Because he was not human, Shane.” Hiro said as he entered the room. Kanoi followed close behind him, carrying an ancient scroll.

“You know who he is, Grandfather?” Cam asked

“As should you all.” The elder Samurai stated. “Did you never learn the legend of Lauthore?”

“The ancient warrior of evil…” Cam thought, remembering back to the day he had watched as his uncle took that name for himself. “But how could it be ?”

“Many years ago, the name ‘Lauthore’ was feared across the land. Lauthore was the darkest of all dark ninja. A master not only of physical skill, but of the darkest of all ninja magic.”

“Wow. No wonder Uncle wanted his name.” Marah commented.

“To be all powerful, was not enough for Lauthore,” Hiro continued. “He set his sights on a higher goal, to open the Abyss of Evil and raise an army from its depths. He would then take over the world.”

“Typical evil ninja behavior.” Kapri added.

Kanoi picked up where Hiro left off. “To combat this threat, six of the most gifted and skilled warriors in the land traveled the globe in search of an ancient temple. This temple was said to contain a power that only the most skilled and virtuous warriors could claim. Together the six overcame many trials and hardships, finally proving themselves worthy to possess this ancient power.” Kanoi unrolled the scroll in his hands, displaying its contents to everyone. The scroll bore the image of six warriors dressed in very familiar battle gear.

“Power Rangers?” Hunter asked, surprised.

“Yes, Hunter.” Kanoi replied. “The first to use your six Power Discs.”

“The six returned to confront the evil that awaited them.” Hiro continued. “After a long and difficult battle, the six managed to overcome Lauthore’s dark power. Defeated, they managed to seal the warlord in the very abyss he intended to use for his evil plans.”

“The six would later go their separate ways.” Kanoi added. “Each of them knew, however, that there would come a time when their power would be needed again. Three decided to pass their skills onto new generation in order to safeguard the Abyss of Evil. They would establish what you now know as the Wind Ninja Academy. Of the remaining warriors, two would follow in their footsteps, establishing the Thunder Ninja Academy in a nearby village.”

“While the third would seal his Power Disc within an amulet of his own design.” Hiro concluded, turning towards Cam. “Our ancestors would then pass the skills he taught them down from generation to generation, waiting for the time when the Power would be needed once again.”

“With the powers gone,” Cam surmised. “The seal that kept Lauthore within the Abyss must have vanished as well. Leaving him free to pick up where he left off all those years ago.”

“Only he seemed more interested in destruction, then domination.” Hunter added.

“It’s the Abyss.” Blake concluded, looking at Tori. The Water Ninja nodded. She remembered as well as he did just how much they had changed in the short time they had been exposed to the Abyss.

“Blake is correct.” Kanoi explained. “The years within the Abyss of Evil have wiped away whatever trace of humanity Lauthore had within him.”

“So we need some serious power if we’re going to have any hope of even getting near Lauthore.” Shane said.

“But where are you gonna find that kind of power. Your Powers were lost when Uncle came back.” Marah asked.

“There is a way. If we are able to find that fabled temple, you will be able to reclaim your Powers and become Rangers once again to defeat Lauthore.” Kanoi replied

“So where would this temple be?” Tori asked?

“That, Tori remains a mystery. The ancient temple has been hidden for centuries. Any knowledge of its original location has long since been forgotten.” Kanoi explained. “As Hiro was saying, Your Ranger Powers are ancient, originating from a single source many centuries old. That Power still exists today. In order to retrieve the power needed to fight Lauthore, you must embark on a journey to find the temple. I have a theory that the temple is hidden somewhere in modern day Japan.”

Dustin looked up. “So we’re going on a journey to an ancient temple hidden somewhere in Japan to retrieve an ancient power to stop a centuries old evil ninja. Is anyone else here having a weird kinda Indiana Jones moment?”

Shane spoke up. “There’s gotta be tons of temples around Japan. Where would we even begin to look for this particular one?”

Cam jumped in. “I think I might have a way of finding the exact whereabouts of the temple.”

“How are we going to do that?” Hunter asked as he and the others followed Cam around to the bank of consoles.

“By matching the energy signature to the residual energy of the Samurai Amulet. If the ancient Ninja and Samurai Powers came from a main power source, then those Powers must originate from somewhere. Even if the area is shielded, the energy emanating from that source will create an ever so slight power flux in the surrounding area. If I can somehow match the energy signature of the Samurai Amulet to that of the power source we’re looking for, I may be able to pinpoint the exact location of the temple.”

“So by using the energy of the Samurai Amulet, you’ll be able to basically create a compass pointing us in the direction of the temple.” Hunter offered.

“That’s it exactly.”

Cam retrieved the Samurai Amulet and placed it into the reader on the console. “There should be enough trace energy here to get a good reading. Just in case though, cross your fingers.”

A few moments later, the computer system began beeping. “I think we may have something.” Cam had the computer zoom in on an enlarged map of Japan. Just north of the city of Kyoto, a faint light could be seen covering most of the area.

“I believe we may have a potential location.”

“That looks like a pretty large area. Is there any way to narrow it down even further?”

“I’m afraid this is going to be the best we can get.” Cam answered Marah. “Once we get there, we can hopefully pinpoint it a little more exactly, but with what little we have to go on, this is about as good as it may get.”

“Is there any way to know for sure?” Kapri asked.

“Only one way, and that’s to go there.”
