"I see what she did," Cam muttered, ignoring the frozen scene on the screen in front of him. His fingers flew across the keyboard as he called up the directory structure over top of the current visual record, and he highlighted each section of "extraterrestrial" activity. "She doesn't count them as Power Rangers for this planet because they didn't actually defend Earth."
Hunter sounded exasperated. "Who are you talking about?"
"The Galaxy Rangers," Cam said with a sigh. It was sad that they couldn't even recognize their predecessors. "They were in charge of defending the Terra Venture colony. She's separated their files from Earth's main Ranger timeline."
"Who?" Hunter repeated. "Who are you talking about?"
Comprehension dawned. "Hayley," Cam said. He'd thought that part was obvious. Who else would bother to update records this complete? She liked information, and she liked to have it accessible at a moment's notice and in a variety of ways.
"Hayley," Hunter repeated, an odd note in his voice. "That's why you're doing--" Cam saw him gesture out of the corner of his eye. "Whatever all this is that you're doing? Because Hayley asked you to?"
"Well, I'm not doing it for the sheer joy of watching attitude-challenged teenagers make fools of themselves," Cam said dryly. He raised an eyebrow as the data stream re-sorted, skipped "extraterrestrial," and settled back into Earth standard. "Speaking of..."
