"Record this and put it in the allcall," Cam instructed, reeling off the street address and time of alien sighting when Mei Lien nodded.
Just then, Kapri wandered into the room. "Hey, Cousin," she began. "Is that sound what I think it is?"
Cam just sighed. "Well, it's not the ice cream truck and it's not the pizza delivery guy, so no, probably not."
"Silly," Kapri scolded. "I think about plenty of things other than food!" She paused for a moment, then asked, "So, it's the hair dresser, right?"
The fire was lifting upward now, the funnel growing and lengthening until it towered above them and Dustin suddenly realized why. Shane was standing on the roof of Storm Chargers. Arms crossed, he mimicked Hunter's position on the ground below, watching the flames arc into the sky. Bopp-A-Roo wasn't controlling that fire anymore.
Dustin frowned up at the funnel, wondering if it was his imagination or if words were starting to appear in the sky. Yeah... the flames were definitely stretching out into little letter-like things. Boo-yeah, the fire read. Dustin snickered.
"Shane, quit fooling around," Cam yelled. "Some of us are pretending to be injured here."
"These things make my hair so flat," Marah complained as she removed her ninja headgear.
Kapri rolled her eyes. "Your hair is always flat," she informed her sister.
"Yeah, well your hair is always pink," Marah retorted.
"That's like, so not true!" Kapri exclaimed. "It's not pink now!"
"Shyeah," Marah said impatiently. "That's my whole point, cause my hair is flat now. Don't you get it?"
Kapri gave her a bemused look but insisted, "Of course I get it! It's totally obvious. Like everything else you say."
"Guys," Hunter snapped. "Shut up."
Reunited as usual by adversity, the sisters looked at each other and heaved identical sighs. They dismissed Hunter with a wave of their hands and as one they declared, "Whatever!"
"This is part of school," Tori's roommate reminded her. "Come on, I'll go with you and cheer you on or carry your bag or whatever."
Tori couldn't help smiling at Tally's determined supportiveness. "It's not that kind of meeting."
"Bummer." Tally's indifferent expression turned to one of disappointment. "The hot cheerleader chicks were the only reason I offered."
